Just wondering about the line, " Don't want to wake up with no one beside me ". Is this an intentional confusing lyric?

Picked up Vic 2 again and it seems like UK and Prussia has been allies for many years now, going into the late 1850's. Is there some requirement that causes UK to drop their isolation that I've missed or is it a bug?
My concern of course is that the Right wing Press and its acolytes would still somehow blame our post-Brexit problems on Europe and that everyone would pay a very high price for this lesson - including those who never wanted it in the first place. (Just my two penn'orth. I feel better now).
I could’ve sworn I clicked it at the beginning of the game, but Germany just allied the UK.
