A list of puns related to "Speed skating rink"
I have recently taken my kids to the skating rink at Victoria park. The few times that I have been there after dinner, there are a lot of teenagers just hanging out. Most of them do not have skates on, and are just on the ice.
There are a group of what look to be 13-15 year old girls who get into shoving/pushing matches with random people. Once the girl even chased another girl and pulled her down by her hair. On a different night, this same girl shoved another lady to the ice. On yet another night the police were finally called, but the girl and her friends ran away.
Why isn't the city posting a security guard or enforcing the rules on the ice...no persons on the ice without skates?
I'm just looking for some feedback/criticism on a business plan I've been dreaming up.
Would an Indoor Roller Skating Rink thrive in Missoula?
Obviously location is huge. Roller rinks are large buildings that tend to take up a lot of space and require a lot of parking. However, if a business wants to be successful in Missoula, it needs to be within city limits at the minimum.
Adult Skating Times - There would be a snack bar and bar that offers alcoholic beverages. After 9PM on some days, it would be Adult Only skate times.
Disco/Dance nights - Every Friday or Saturday would offer a dance night with lights and good music. Great for teens and families.
Roller Derby - Our rink would be Missoula's premiere roller derby track. Roller derby is very popular in Missoula and Montana in general. I think having a rink that can host tournaments would be awesome
Roller Hockey League - If enough players are interested, a roller hockey league can be pretty popular in the summer when Ice Rinks are closed down
Right now, I'm still in the dreaming process of this business plan. However, I'd love to hear feedback on the idea and would love some input.
I am so tired of going to packed public ice skating rinks and seeing like 4-5 people doing intense tricks on the ice. Public rinks are typically packed and to do tricks you typically need free space so that you can pick up speed. Like I get it, you are proud of how much training youβve probably gone through but most people here can barely skate. And people who donβt know how to skate canβt just easily swerve out of your way.
I was recently at a public rink for a school field trip (Iβm an admin at a school) and this lady was at full speed flying across a very small public skating rink. She proceeded to jump in the air and land backwards. After she stuck her landing she smacked right into one of our students sending him flying. She then gets all pissy cause βthe student was in her way.β And this isnβt the first time Iβve witnessed something like this.
Like, go pay for a private rink or go at a time when there isnt a ton of people on the ice. Also donβt fly across the ice, knock people down and then act like itβs not your fault.
I had a super nice outdoor ring at my last university, but everything rink I look up around Seattle is an indoor rink (like a gym). Or, if you guys have other suggestions regarding usually empty lots, please let me know!
So I took one lesson to skate for the first time and I spent all the time mostly wobbling around and falling over the whole 45 mins.
I was wondering if there are public skating rinks where I can go and find my balance before my next class?
Can you guys give me some public rinks around Downtown or West of Toronto and the rates? Are they free to go to? Will they ask me to leave if they see me wobbling around on one side of the rink, because of health hazard to other skaters?
As much as I was impressed with you being the only person in your own skates, your constant reverse gliding and ability to near miss everyone, it was the wild flailing of arms before landing hard on your coccyx that I really enjoyed the most
I made a map of all the ice-skating βΈ rinks of the city of Toronto.

I'm new to the city and had no idea where all these places were/ which ones were close to me. And I did this with my photography business account as a fun way to promote my business. Hope I'm not the only one that finds this super useful π
Thoughts??
Edit: Of course we all know this would never happen, but here's a quick recap as to why not:
The u of a would have to pay someone to make and maintain the rink. They would also probably need some sort of liability insurance, and the fact that its outdoor would probably make that expensive if not unfeasible as its impossible to keep track of who is using the rink. Also, there's already a skating rink in the the van vliet complex (although an initial look seems to indicate the drop in times are not the most convenient for students).
Work is cutting into my rink skating time recently and I still wanna skate and learn new things. Does anyone have any good outdoor wheels suggestions?
I was skating uptown today and next thing I know there's a few people with Guy Fawkes masks on holding TV screens towards the skaters. Anyone know what this is about? Their screens were so washed out by the sunlight I couldn't tell what was on them.
Thatβs all
Does anyone know when the outdoor skating rinks in markham will be open? I know it's weather dependent but I've gone to check out a few of them on different days and it always has the red sign. Any other skating options besides the civic centre?
Hey! Looking for a place that is smooth, not too crowded, and offers rentals. Recommendations are appreciated!!
