In the countries of the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, the Trivial States (the predecessor of the UAE) and North+South Yemen), slavery was not abolished until the 1950s and 1960s. What did slavery look like in these places in the mid-20th century (just before its abolition)?

Who were the slaves? Where did they come from? What was their role in society? Trivial-Trucial. Damned autocorrect.

[CONFLICT] South Asia Deploys to the Arabian Sea

##This Land is Theirs.

After several South Asian internal states flip-flop once again after succumbing to widespread media outrage, or just realizing that there won't be much wealth to exploit after ADIR spends trillions trying to destroy a nation, the South Asian Navy is deploying to the Arabian Sea alongside its compatriots in the region.

This deployment will consist of one major group centered around SAN Vikramaditya. Many supply and escort ships are being provided to make sure allied fleets cannot be alpha-striked with fighters, missiles, or submarines. Attack submarines will take a wider radius around the group without drawing enemy attention and track foreign subs and other vessels in case of hostile intentions (of particular note being the German ships that might have suspiciously moved to the region around the same time). On a tactical level, the ships will be in multiple patrolling groups: one based around SA Vikramaditya and others escorting allied LHDs if deemed to be necessary. It is under the command structure agreed upon here.

###Naval Deployment (names here for some of them if needed for roleplay or something)

Num. Class Notes
1 SAN Vikramaditya Aircraft Carrier 26 Tejas Mk. 2B and 10 Γ— Kamov Ka-31 AEW&C and Kamov Ka-28 ASW helicopters
1 Kolkata-class Stealth Missile Destroyer
4 Visakhapatnam-Class Guided Missile Destroyer

As far as I know, there are servers dotted across the Americas, Europe, and South East Asia. Are there any North East Asia Servers? What servers do Turkish or Arabian players use?

I realize Americas, EU, and SEA likely has the highest player density, owing in part to population density, but servers do people in Northern China or Mongolia play on? Are there Middle Eastern servers?

If those do exist, how does the game culture vary? I remember a conversation with someone who frequented the SEA servers talking about how the strategies used were very different in some aspects.

Tools to swap/convert Hebrew letter to Old South Arabian, Phoenician (Paleo-Hebrew), Imperial Aramaic, and Syriac.

Hello, I made tools that make it possible to convert Hebrew letter to Old South Arabian, Phoenician (Paleo-Hebrew), Imperial Aramaic, or Syriac letter and vice versa (Update: Parthian and Samaritan too). It doesn't support diacritic for now and the final form of certain letters are sometimes messed up.

(I tried to make the Arabic one as well but the initial, medial, and final form of Arabic letters are hell....)

You can access the tools here:

Old South Arabian: https://lingojam.com/OldSouthArabianandHebrewletterswapconverter

Sabaic/Old South Arabian Script revival?

What do you guys think of reviving OSA scripts in areas like Yemen, Oman, etc.? I can understand potential political implications but from a point of view that appreciates ancient languages, I find this idea very interesting. I think we could bring back this script like Neo-Tifinagh except possibly more authentic given the known corpus of OSA documentation.

UAE/South Arabian Federation Idea: Flag and Plausibility

The merging of Aden ("South Yemen") with Yemen proper only took place in 1990, though the unification movement began in the 1970s. Before this there was not much of a push to bring these two together. The culture, religion and history of the two regions have little in common; South Yemen is Sunni and North Yemen Shi'a, and while North Yemen has been ruled by the Mutawakkilite Imams for centuries the Aden was governed by several local monarchs under British protection. Indeed, the term "South Yemen" only came about in the British colonial era; before that, no one thought of the two as in any way linked.

The Southern Union

I doubt the Ottomans would put Aden under Yemen. Instead, I wonder if Oman might be interested in the region. It was once part of the Omani Empire, as were the Trucial States, and Oman might want to secure these territories after the British collapse. Possibly they'd revive the old empire, but more likely they would form an Omani-led federation like the OTL UAE. Maybe they could even get Qatar and Bahrain but the Ottomans would probably seize Kuwait before they could join. If they're really ambitious they might try getting Zanzibar to join after Mittelafrika collapses.

The question is, is this plausible? What name and flag would this federation have? What would its foreign policy be? How would they respond to the war between the Ottomans and the Cairo Pact? Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
