Soul Food Puns

The other week I tried to make a thread here about how I feel so depressed about the world and how we need positive Trek in a world that seems like it's burning. I started to turn to Star Trek to feel a bigger love for humans again and I've landed on Voyager, the same show my late father and I watched when I was a kid. Despite its deep issues it still has the heart of Trek and parades a humanistic spirit that I think we all need right now, when things are so scary and everyone hates each other and pregnant women are being attacked for where her ancestors were born.

I just watched an episode where the Doctor has a hologram family to learn about humans and his holo daughter ends up dying. He decides rather than facing it to simply end the program. Tom Paris while in the medical bay gives a beautiful speech to the doctor on shared human pain and how it brings us closer together. That because something is painful doesn't mean it's not worth experiencing despite its awfulness.

During a time when we've all lost so much I think it's something we can all learn from. I hope that doesn't sound callous in the face of the very real pain others have experienced the last year. I lost my father, but others have lost more, and I know that by facing it together we can come out stronger. What a message. That positive, wistful hopefulness. Trek, your star has never shined brighter for me.

What beautiful comfort food for the soul. It's not a perfect stew but it's still worth eating. I think it's something we all need right now.

Irman shook his head. “This is not a matter of raw data. Jump-drive calculations and Organic-Mechanical compatibility formulae are simple. This is a matter of emotion and social interest, vastly more complicated. I am a Bio-mechanical Engineer, not a therapist.”
 
“You asked.” Alex pointed out.
 
The cyborg nodded with as much of a smile as he could manage with all the augmentics. “Affirmative. My only advice is unfortunately unhelpful. Do what you feel is best. There are benefits and drawbacks to either decision, only you can choose to walk either path.”
 
The former trooper paused as he hung the dish towel back on the oven handle. “Walk the path…. I guess you’re right, and it’s not like I don’t have some time to figure things out. Hope you don’t mind if I get a second opinion when Natalia gets here.”
 
“Not at all. I would in fact encourage it. Our ‘Big Sister’ is more comfortable with such matters than I and may offer a more useful analysis on your predicament.” Imran patted Alex on the arm gently and settled in against the counter. “In the meantime, what are your plans?”
 
“I’m meeting up with my Siibaran friends later for the last stop on the food tour and some general fun. You should come along with us, I’m sure they’d be happy to meet you.” Alex replied, glancing over at Imran.
 
“I am uncertain. Many find my appearance frightening. Your companions may find my presence… offensive.” the man replied.
 
“Nonsense. You’re family, and how often do we get the chance to just hang out and act like one? Join us Imran, I know there’s still some soft bits in there somewhere.” Alex smiled and gestured for his brother to get comfortable as he slipped around to his room to get on a better set of clothes. “Besides.” he called

I've been wonder, is Yogurt a good long term healer? I have several SR Healing Food Souls and want to replace Milk, but I'm not sure which on to use.

I do have Sweet Tofu but his shards are a bit harder to get since Yogurt's can be received from Exploration. Should I keep using Milk or should I use one of the other two.

LSD is nice to see on the menu, but mushrooms is that soul food I’ve been craving.

I have my sights set on adding to my shoegaze/ambient setup AND putting together a Hendrix travel board for jam sessions.

First off, I’m looking for a JTM45-style amp in a box pedal (Charlie Brown, .45 Caliber etc) and a univibe. I have no idea what I’m looking for in a unbive but I’m no too into Fulltone stuff (not a big fan of the OCD idk) Could be swayed into an Octavio-style fuzz like the Dusky Augustus but I kinda want to get the JTM and the univibe first.

As far as the setup I currently have, I’m not too sure what I’m looking for. Just gave away my Julia and I kinda miss it so a Julianna is kind of a feeler, along with a OBNE Mondegreen. A Signal Blender would be a nice utility pedal, big wants are a MOOD, Fairfield Hors D’Oeuvres and a TC Sentry.

Fathom and CT5 are feelers (both with boxes) all pedals have some Velcro on the back. Pitchfork does not have original knobs.

My friend and I are playing ATM6, and we've got the Soul Lava bee in its own valid apiary. After much searching, found a bucket of Soul Lava. After putting up the thing to calm it down we put it in the apiary, but the bee doesn't seem to care about the Soul Lava. We let it fly around for a bit around our base because it seemed to want to do so, but it just flew around aimlessly. What on earth do these bees eat?

I like to play a lot of blues and some grunge/garage (Weezer.) Soul Food for some clean overdrive, Big Muff for fuzz and cry baby for Hendrix fun.

So far I'm thinking next would logically be the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver, or should I get a DS-1 to start before moving up to the BD-2 and use what I saved towards a looper pedal? (TC Electronic Ditto+?)

Ibanez tube screamer has also been on my radar but seems like it's pretty similar to the Big Muff but more metal-y rather than grunge fuzz.

Also batteries vs adapters? I've heard adapters can cause some interference, and it sounds like batteries will last quite a while as long as I'm not playing for hours every day with a ton of pedals. I don't really plan on running more than 3-4 and I'm a pretty casual player, so I could probably get away with batteries, right? And am I correct in that it seems like MOST pedals run off batteries or AC and rarely are one or the other? (And even then, isn't it just older pedals that are battery only?)

That paradox just popped into my mind. I don't think there is a verse in the bible in which God adds gender to the soul.

If that is the case, there is no real difference between two people other than outer appearance in regards to gender/sex.

Thus there is no reason as to why someone should be the "leader of the household" just because that person has a shlong between their legs.

Looking for some good, authentic, family style soul food. I need to get back in touch with my roots.
