A list of puns related to "Software inspection"
I've been doing research to build software to save businesses' time and effort, which is what I specialize in.
Reading reviews on software like Spectora, Palm-Tech, HIP, I've noticed many negative reviews saying it's not custom enough for them, especially the templates they provide for the reports.
As a home inspector do you feel that way, or does the software you're currently using fill all your needs?
New inspector here...
Looking to see what software has a good track record with creating reports.
Heard of InspectIt and Home Inspector Pro. Anyone have any thoughts on them??
To keep track of our clients tank/vessel inspection due date, I created a spreadsheet where I manually type in the clients name, tank details, next inspection due date, etc. So far we have been using the spreadsheet but is there a software out there that can do this?
Also, some of our clients don't have a system in place to keep track of what equipment needs to be inspected in which year. Sometimes they tell us to inspect equipment that was due like 5 years ago. Is there a way to give them access to the spreadsheet or any software that lets them view only their equipment?
For piping, a spreadsheet was created where we manually type in the line number, details, etc.. But it just seems like a lot of time is wasted in making the spreadsheet up to date. Any software out there that can do this instead?
Thanks.
I'm just getting my home inspection business set up and was starting my search for home inspection software. I'm an IT guy by training, so integrating complex features, functionality and all that jazz was my bread and butter for 20-years. However, I don't have a list of requirements baselined (knowing what I need an application to do for me) yet, let alone ready to select a product and integrate it into my workflows.
I did a preliminary search for Home Inspector Software packages and this seemed like a good sampling of them:
https://www.capterra.com/home-inspection-software/
Maybe all these apps have the following features/functionality and I just haven't put together a comparison. This is what I was looking for:
What software packages do you use? What works for you, what's a challenge? What software packages would you have chosen if you were to do it all over again? Is there an industry leading developer everyone seems to use?
Hello all, I've been a home inspector for about ten years now, but this is my first post here.
Our first four years in business, we used a proprietary software because we were franchisees. Since then we've been using Home Inspector Pro 4. I found both of the programs to be rather time consuming no matter how detailed our template was.
What is some of the popular software folks are using nowadays? We always do detailed reports (every room, etc.). I'm looking to shorten my report writing time to an absolute minimum while maintain the detailed reports.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Hey everyone. I am a structural engineer that has my own business doing home inspections. I have found that I spent most of my time writing reports. I am not sure how long it should take me but I spend around 5 hours per report. I like to include details and pictures and try to be very thorough but this seems like an excessive amount of time. Is there any software or templates out there that can help generate reports?
Any help will be greatly apreciated.
Hi all,
Im a new home inspector in Florida and was wondering what home inspection report software is popular and why. I have a 64 megapixel camera on my android phone so I can use that for pictures, plug into my computer (to upload photos) and fill out my reports that way. I've found alot out there and open to recommendations.
Thanks
The company I work for is exploring switching to a web based software called net-inspect. We currently use macro heavy excel workbooks to currently capture our data but it sometimes lags and crashes.
My company is looking at viable options for cell tower mapping via drones & photogrammetry.
I've been designated as the "software guy" in this new department, so for the past few days I've been doing a deep dive into software packages that we can use to process the drone imagery and create models. In my research I also came across a few recommendations for hardware, and I was wondering what you all think.
Here's what I've found so far:
Software:
Camera:
Drones:
Inspire 2 Pro: was recommended for this application in a video I watched, but when I brought it up in a meeting, I was told the Inspire 2 Pro is about to be phased out
Matrice M200: I haven't looked into this one yet, but our drone pilot seems to think it will be a good choice
Do these options seem like they will work for our use case? I have some experience with point clouds and processing software, but I know very little about drones, so any input would be very helpful.
Thanks!
A few years ago, I built property inspection software for move-in, move-out, drive-by, and exterior property inspections. I ended up having chronic health issues so I didn't get the opportunity to start getting customers to use it. I've been feeling better so I'm going to start getting customers on board to use it soon.
Before I start ramping up though, I wanted to know if anyone was interested in either using it themselves, owning some portion of the business, or having an interest in some capacity I'm not thinking of. Might be a good opportunity for someone who has an interest in being involved in a software business in the property management space. I own a couple of other businesses so it would be helpful to have someone else involved here. If you're seriously interested or have a question, please PM me.
The inspection software runs completely in your browser so it works on any computer, phone, or tablet. It makes inspections really easy. You build an inspection checklist. You use that checklist to record the condition of each room, record notes, and take pictures of each property. You generate a PDF of the inspection in one click and can send it via email automatically to clients.
I am currently using a blue light scanner, and using ATOS Professional inspection software, and Iβve been disappointed in some of the limitations of the software. My company adheres to ASME 14.5-2009 standard on all prints, and I question the capability of the software to demonstrate a solid understanding of this standard. A few things Iβve noticed, it cannot inspect flatness on a derived median plane, or any orientation controls on a derived cylinder. It also cannot do compound profiles or positions. When I contacted the company they sent me a video of them supposedly creation this feature and I had to point out they were creating multiple single-segments which is not the same thing. They conceded the fact that the software was unable to perform that inspection at this time. I looked into ControlX, and it had similar limitations. Does anyone know of a good 3D inspection software that has a demonstratable expertise in ASME, and is able to inspect these types of controls? Thanks!
I'm in IT for an outfit that makes/sells medical and dental bits. Our relatively new Q/A dept says that most of the software we use has to be "validated," something that they've not done, so no one knows how to do it. I've read tons of government and "how to" guides, but they're all quite vague. What I need is examples of app validation that an FDA inspector found agreeable, and the only example I have is 60 pages long. The idea that we'll have to do 60 pages of validation test design, execution, and analysis of results, for dozens of apps is kinda horrifying.
Our Q/A folks say that "this can be done in a half dozen pages. The 60 page example is extreme." So I'm trying to find examples of someone who validated an app in a doc as brief as what our Q/A types described. For any example so fabulous that I plagiarize the shit out of it, I will buy you beer for a whole year. Yes, I mean that sincerely.
