A list of puns related to "So called"
Turns out two heads are better than one.
XXXX share holder here, I decided to call TD since my control # is still not available on my account. I have always found TD Ameritradeโs employees to be friendly and courteous.
The gentleman on the other end, told me that they were getting bombarded by phone calls for GME control numbers, over the past couple days. He said that THEY were getting a โkickโ from what the shareholders are doing. He explained to me that they have never seen shareholders call to get their control numbers, as most investors do not care about proxy votes. They think that THIS may change the market forever. ๐๐๐
Good work Ape brothers and sisters. Please go vote!
FYI to TD Ameritrade users: we will likely see our control numbers on Monday on our accounts.
HI, my name is Joe Hall, and I have a rare brittle bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) which causes my bones to fracture easily, and be deformed.
OI is typically broken into 8 different types based on commonly found clinical features. I have one of the more severe called Type 3.
I estimate that I have had around 250 broken bones in my lifetime, though I don't really keep count. OI is caused by mutations to collagen molecules in the body. As such it can also effect other aspects of your body such as skin, teeth, hearing, and even your heart.
Most people that have OI experience the majority of their fractures before puberty when the body's bones are still developing.
My type of OI (Type 3) is considered severe/moderate which is why I have never walked and am around 3 feet tall. I also have low respiratory functions and I am partially deaf. I use an electric wheelchair to get around and hearing aids to hear.
I have always tried to live my life as fully as possible and attack each day like a very hungry honey badger!
Today is known as international Wishbone Day, which raises awareness for OI by celebrating those affected by the disorder!
You can learn more about OI by asking me questions in the comments, or from the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, where I am on the Board of Directors. http://www.OIF.org/

Confused, I said โWhyโd you call him earlier when his nameโs Ryan??โ
I called DEGIRO customer service right now to inquire how can I vote my shares ahead of the annual meeting. The customer service guy was very nice, but it was clear as day he's been swamped with this question before (the "Oooohhh yeah GameStop" reaction).
He said they have an inflow of requests from GME shareholders about voting and "are working with their brokerage department to come up with a common platform for all customers to vote." Because apparently there have been so many requests lately, they are unable to handle them individually.
The guy said they could not give a date when it would be ready, but they will get back to me as soon as they have "the solution."
The good: Europoors are responsible HODLers and are voting their shares en masse!
The bad: DEGIRO could be bulshitting and delaying or trying to avoid us voting altogether. Although I don't think that's likely, they have been a fairly good broker so far. No PFOF, no restrictions buying in January, although they do wire trades to Shitadel darkpool.
Good job, Europoors. We are voting like responsible HODLers should! ๐๐
I was driving around with the dog in the backseat and my wife's boyfriend riding the shotgun and all the sudden my dad called me.
D: Hi! I was just calling to ask you how much money you've spent on GME?
M: Everything I can afford to lose
D: But how much?
M: x amount.
D: Holy fuck, you should sell!!!
M: Why?
D: what happens when you lose all that money?
M: Who says I'm going to lose the money?
D: They will pull something shady
M: They've been pulling some shady shit for months now and I've come way to far to give up.
Then I explained him the situation once again, so, he bought a couple of shares himself. If this isn't the way, I don't know what is.
Cya boys at the moon! ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐
I want one but I'm not sure what to google for?
I have however seen hundreds of coasters, big and small....
Yesterday, I replied to a post (on TTG) where the OP was struggling with what to do on a covered call that had gone in the money. My reply was "I'm always surprised people don't do Iron Condors in place of covered calls" which sparked a bit of a discussion. I thought the discussion was worth a longer post and a bigger discussion here.
Covered calls are like an entry drug for options. They are extremely straightforward and serve a very useful purpose. That intended purpose looks like this: 1) an investor owns the stock 2) they'd be willing to sell it higher. 3) If they sell OTM calls they have the chance to lower their cost basis before eventually being called away in the stock. 4) IOW, for those wanting to sell stock higher, a covered call strategy is a lot smarter than a GTC sell order in the stock.
Where covered calls get misused (IMHO) is as income generation against long stock. I would argue credit call spreads vs stock are better than covered calls, and I would take it one step further and argue that Iron Condors are better than both. Let me explain.
First, let's start with the expected move. You may have seen me talk about the expected move as useful for strike selection. It's also useful for understanding something like a covered call strategy. The way an expected move generally works is that roughly 65-70% of the time the stock finishes at or inside that expected move. The other 30% that goes outside the expected move include some disproportionally big moves. The reasons are aplenty but think blow-out earnings moves, breakouts above resistance, crashes on bad news, etc. That 30% outside the move is much wider than it seems.
So now think about a covered call strategy where the call is at or just above the expected move. The math says it should work 2/3 times before being called away. Maybe even 3/4 depending on delta. The issue is that time it doesn't may be the big move higher. And if your strategy is income, rather than just a smarter way to sell your stock, that move you missed in the stock may be enough to wipe out any income you had collected leading up to that point.
Iron Condors vs Covered Calls for Income - Here's a direct comparison of a covered call and a credit Iron Condor using Apple with a May 1st expiration as an example. The Expected Move would put the bullish consensus around $140 (currently trading $130). The 140 call is about 1.80.
*If an investor bought 100 shares of Apple (AAPL) for $130. Then sold 1 May 21st $1

(I am currently teaching myself Japanese so sorry for any mistakes in this brief case)
Sayoko Minami (ๅๅไฝไปฃๅญ) was born sometime in 1961 and was a student at Kindai University in Osaka, Japan some time in the 80s she got herself a part time job and saved up the money she earned from that job as since she was young she had always wanted to travel the world.
And she finally saved up enough money to make that dream come true as on April 5 1989 she left Japan to go traveling across the world. She started her journey in Southeast Asia before going to China, The Then Soviet Union, The Middle East, Africa, India and at the end of March 1990 she would visit the himalayan country of Nepal.
During her travels she would send photos of her and letters to her family back in Japan every week so they would know where she was and that she was okay.
Early 1990 was a wild time in her final destination of Nepal as starting on February 18, 1990 and lasting until April 8 the same year the country would undergo several protest seeking to end the country's absolute monarchy in an event that has been dubbed "The Nepalese Revolution"
Despite the environment Sayoko didn't back down and wanted to tour the country and on April 3, 1990 she sent the last letter to her family "ใใใฉใคๆน้ขใธใ4้ฑ้ใใใใฎไบๅฎใงๅฑฑๆญฉใใซใงใใใ" In this letter she tells her family that she will be going to the Himalayan Mountain range for about four weeks.
When those four weeks came to pass and her family back in Japan had not heard back from her they started to get worried so they contacted the Japanese Embassy. After being alerted of her disappearance The Japanese Embassy put pressure on the Nepalese authorities to open an investigation into her disappearance.
And they did start an investigation and search for Sayoko and found out she checked into a hotel in Pokhara a city which is roughly a 6 hour drive from the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu where she sent her family that letter.
Her family flew to Nepal themselves to look for Sayoko and they along with the police searched the hotel room she was staying at and found that all her belongings such as her clothes and mountaineering equipment was left intact meaning that she was likely planning on returning later and hadn't yet started her journey to the Himalaya's. This this being all they found the Nepalese and Japanese Embassy released a statement stating that there was inconclusive evidence to determined whether she was a victim of foul play or died in an accide
... keep reading on reddit โกIn a parenting sub that I frequent, a woman read something in the school newsletter that she liked, made her feel acknowledged. She wants to let the school know she appreciated their effort, give them positive reinforcement. But she's hesitant to send an email:
Is it weird if I email them and thank them? Just a quick thank you for recognizing us. I feel like they need positive reinforcement and I want them to know itโs appreciated but I donโt want to be โthat ladyโ.
There it is, folks. We are now at the point where women are too timid to state an opinion to the school for fear of being labeled "that lady" aka a "Karen," the worst thing a woman can be: someone with an opinion who dares to contact the authorities. Even when the authorities are just an elementary school, even when the opinion is a positive one! How can women ever be expected to stand up for themselves, to do the right thing, to advocate for themselves and their children, when some of us are so terrified to be a bother, a nag, a bitch, a Karen, that we question ourselves before doing something as innocuous as thanking a school secretary for their time?
Luckily, the responses were pretty much: Of course it's not weird, go ahead and email them. But it breaks my heart that this OP felt the need to second-guess herself and as though she had no right to an opinion or to give a reaction.
