My pup loves snow but I'm wondering how deep is too deep? She's 14 months old and enjoyed some fun tours last spring. What is this? If you go to google maps and search crowfoot rd, trail oregon. And zoom in some and search around the area you'll see patches that look like blue snow but it's not snow

I really got into trail running this year. For experience level understanding โ Iโve run a street half-marathon and I want to push that to trails; I did 10 miles on a trail just a couple weeks ago.
Now that itโs snowy in my area (Utah), Iโd like your wisdom about running in the snow! Iโve already picked up some traction spikes I liked, but what are your recommendations for shoes and socks? I currently run in a pair of Topos with some standard Saucony socks, neither of which are waterproof. My feet usually sweat a lot during my normal runs.
So the big question is do I need to go buy waterproof shoes, or will waterproof socks cut it? Or neither? What is your experience running in snow regarding foot warmth and moisture control?
