A list of puns related to "Small Town Crime"
Not really sure what it is Iβm looking for so thought Iβd see if anyone has any suggestions. Iβm trying to read more this year, last year I only managed 1 book, A HillBilly Elegy, and this year Iβm currently half way through Where the Crawdads Sing, and quite enjoying it. Any recommendations for thriller/crime stories set in small towns? I have no idea what to read next

Hi! Iβm Anne Roderique-Jones, journalist and host of the true crime investigative podcast The Springfield Three: A Small-Town Disappearance, an original series produced by editaudio.
Since the release in May, the show has received more than half a million downloads, and has been featured by Forbes, iHeartRadio, Yahoo's It List, and charted in Apple Podcasts Top 20 for True Crime.
I grew up in Springfield and still have family in the Ozarks, so the story of the Springfield Three is close to my heart. I spent two years reporting and working on this show, with a focus on addressing the misinformation around the case and, more importantly, how the disappearance has impacted the community for all these years.
Weβre releasing three bonus episodes on today, where youβll get to hear from Bartt Streeter, the brother to Suzie and son of Sherrill--both of whom disappeared that night. We also speak with a former journalist who broke this case and his rather interesting commentary about local law enforcement. And we hear from a woman that lived with one of the suspects, Robert C. Cox.
Listen now wherever you get your podcasts: https://pod.link/springfield3
Does anyone know what is happening with these two podcasts? They are some of my favorite ones and neither has posted anything since june. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if they will be back with new episodes. Thanks!
In the past year I have really grown to love crime thrillers set in a distant small town. Just can't have enough of them. If you want to try such shows..you may try watching:
Edit: Any similar suggestions are welcomed!
I remember getting a podcast recommendation back in 2019 for a show in which the first episode covered the ambush of a sheriff as he either drove to or from home, a tree was cut down in front of his car and he was attacked with a shotgun. I've looked up the case and unfortunately the results are muddled with a lot of unrelated cases.
The podcast itself covered just a single town or county I think somewhere on the US East Coast, around Virginia/The Carolina's I think. Also the title of the podcast was different than the usual true crime style, I vaguely remember it being the name of the town/county and containing the word 'bridge' though I may be mistaken.
Any leads are appreciated, thanks.
Repost title wasn't long enough
Edit:THANK YOU! My first ever
Suspect this request may be a tad too specific as I've had little luck on Google, but hoping to find a crime novel/series with the washed-up, dark-humoured detective trope. Ideally with non-too graphic crimes. If the crimes are gruesome or described in gory detail it probably won't for me. Thank you!
Even though he was nearly 30 years old Chris Wilson always told people that he didn't know what he wanted to be when he grew up but he dreamed of being a guitarist in a band. He had a hard time holding down jobs and never worked in one place for very long. In his late twenties his mom bought a hair salon in Wenatchee and Chris decided to start attending the Academy of Hair Design in order to maybe follow in her footsteps. Throughout his life Chris had a number relationships what different women some serious, some casual. He had even been engaged a time or two. One woman he dated on-again-off-again was named Tessa Shuyleman (Source). We will get more to her later.
Descriptions of Chris vary widely depending on who you ask, most people will tell you he liked being different. For years he dyed his hair black, occasionally wore eyeliner, chose to wear clothes that were βpunkβ or βgothβ. Most people will also tell you that Chris Wilson was interested in things dark and macabre. He was obsessed with a show called Dexter which is about a serial killer. He was also interested in dark art and movies. He enjoyed talking about death, and serial killers and most of his time on the internet was spent on serial killer forums. Of course, Chris's friends always have stressed that he wasn't evil; he was just different and had unusual interests. Researching serial killers and liking shows like Dexter after all isn't really that unique. Wilson also sports a tattoo Hannibal Lecter on his forearm. He had been fired from at least one funeral home in Wenatchee due to βinappropriateβ behavior that made his boss uncomfortable. Chris's former boss has never elaborated on this statement claiming it was not his place to talk about these things outside of court (source). However, another manager at the funeral home described Chris as an excellent employee (source). One woman who worked with Chris at Academy of Hair Design described him as βintimidating but not physically intimidating.β Other coworkers and neighbors remember Chris as artsy but was otherwise a typical guy [(Source)](https://www.krem.com/article/news/local/arrest-

Hey all, would really appreciate your help finding a book I read few years ago. I can't recall the name, but here're some of the details I remember:
Some extra details:
Hi all, thank you very much for making yourselves available here.
A writer's question, if I may..
I know that things would likely look different from place to place but I hope you will bear with me.
In my story a person goes missing, then is found unconscious in a nature area under a rural Sheriff Department's jurisdiction. (He was beaten up and shot. He gets brain surgery but falls into a coma that he is not likely to recover from. The family is considering whether to unplug.)
My questions are:
Thank you so much for your time!
(The setting is rural Kentucky, but just because I like the scenery. I could move it to any location, especially if this is a topic which is handled dramatically differently across the States. Ideally, I'd like to find a place where this might not be prosecuted as a murder unless they unplug, so that there'll be a possibility to show the fault lines between immediate family members.)
Ps. I apologize if this is not the right flair.
As the title says, how safe is the University of Akron and its surrounding areas? I am coming as a freshman from a small town and never have to worry about being robbed or anything like that. What can I do to protect myself on campus and off? Would I be able to walk from campus to downtown safely or should I bring a car instead? Thanks.
Hi guys,
This is my first time posting a theory, so please be kind. I don't know if this is a widespread theory already, but I just thought of it.
So, hear me out: What if the mistress in NBNC is actually Dorothea, who came home for the holidays?
I believe it is more widely acknowledged that Dorothea and Tis the damn season are about the same two characters, from each others perspectives. Dorothea left for LA, she used to have a thing with a guy from her home town, but it ended because she left. He misses her (as sung in Dorothea) and she comes back for he holidays and wants to hook up again.
Now, in TTDS, Dorothea acknowledges that the man was with someone else, but she doesn't want to know about it ("If I wanted to know who you were hanging with While I was gone I would have asked you"). She also mentions the following:
"Time flies, messy as the mud on your truck tires"
Yes. Truck tires. They were muddy and then in NBNC the truck has new tires.
Also also, we have another lyrical parallel:
"Sleeps in Este's bed and everything" and "to leave the warmest bed I've ever known"
So, Dorothea comes back from LA to her old sweetheart. She was his true love, so gets rid of his wife, Este. But Taylor finds out, and BUM the guy is dead, Este is dead, and Dorothea is suspected. I wonder if she got dragged into it without knowing, or if she was really an accomplice?
So, what do you guys think?

I guess the cop was from DEA or something that he starts to steal apprehend goods or something, then when he is close to be discovered he takes his own death, makes a new id as psychologyst and move to a very small town.
There he starts to make good impact on the town, but the two other psychotherapists starts to loose credit and turn against him.
That's basically the whole plot but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the movie or the main actors.
Hello everyone, for the last few months I have been creating long form write-ups on a variety of unsolved cases. If you are interested in other lengthy write ups you can find them on my profile- https://www.reddit.com/user/Quirky-Motor/.
The crime I want to discuss today was committed in Wenatchee, Washington a medium sized town in the middle of Washington state. As a Washingtonian, this case has always stuck with me as I rememberwhen it happened so vividly. I remember my grandma driving all around town in search of the last taser which she purchased at a sporting store. The clerk told her it was the last one in stock and that he had never sold so many tasers, firearms, and pepper sprays in his life. It really was one of the crimes that shook an entire region and changed how people lived. But first, letβs talk about the area.
If you are not interested skip until The Crime section.
The area
Wenatchee is a town of 30,000 people in dead center of Washington state. It is not near anyfreeways meaning that it is not necessarily small, but it isn't close to any large population centers. The closest freeway access is 40 miles to the south east and the high desert is devoid of any large population centers for 100 miles in any direction, Seattle to the west, Spokane to the east and Tri Cities to the south are all in equal distance from Wenatchee. The whole county, Chelan County (pronounced SHUH-lan), boasts only 5 incorporated towns. Wenatchee- 30,000, Chelan- 3000, Cashmere-3000, Entiat- 1000, and Leavenworth- 1900.
Wenatchee sits on the banks of the mighty Columbia River. The city is on a county line, split into two townships, Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, population 9,000. As mentioned before Wenatchee is the largest city in ovver a hundred miles. It is home to the regionβs only sizable hospital, only animal shelter, only shoe store, etc. It is the seat of an area know as North Central Washington or NCW as the locals call it, a map of which can be found here. The paper, the Wenatchee World, available in both English and Spanish, covers a whopping four counties. In this isolated area a murder was all that was talked about for months, not even in town, but in all four surrounding counties. The paper and radio stations reported on it constantly and everyone in town had connections to the c
