A list of puns related to "Small Change trilogy"
Hello, watching how the sequels tore at the star wars community. This has been very disheartening to a new star wars fan ( relative as im 15 yrs old). Althpugh I am very optimistic about lucasfilm actually taking time to plan and sort out what they want to do on the movie side of things, with stellar directors like taika waititi, and on the tv side of things, the GOAT dave filoni and jon favreau being given bigger roles within Lucasfilm.
If I could make small changes to the sequel trilogy, here is what I would do to make them less divisive, and better movies (IMO)
TFA:
The resistance doesn't exist, lea is in charge of the military branch of the new republic or a senator.
This would allow for several scenes at Bosnian prime, and also give some much needed world building and would really get the tone of th he galaxy across, and make the conflict in the sequels less like the OT. We can see a bit of the political side, and give hosnians destruction/capture some resinence for the audience, so basically the resistance is now just a part of the new republic, stationed away from the hosnian system, and maybe join in the battle to fight for the planet before leading into TLJ?
Also, starkiller base isnt a thing, or is an energy generator for a huge fleet or giant ship yard that a team has to destroy. The whole planet killing weapon has been done to death by now.
TLJ:
Change Luke's arc a tad.
So obviously lukes arc was a big point of contention for star wars fans, and I would improve it by doing the inverse of what happened in the film. Whereas in the film, luke tries to preemptively stop kylo after seeing a vision, in my version, he let's it grow and fester, thinking he can help kylo control it, until eventually kylo kills his students and ruins the temple.
This change would give luke a very similar arc, but it would keep it true to the core character and not be as divisive.
Poe and finn stay on the ship (rose still exists and is present)
So this is kinda major. But I think the chemistry between those two actors is too good.
Poe can help find realize why he should fight for the resistance. And finn can help poe realize that war isnt glamorous or good.
I rly like TLJ as it is.
TROS:
Rose is a spy for the first order....
This completely justifies holdos whole "not trusting anyone" thing. Retroactively and it would just be a fun twist.
Basically TROS would become duel for the fates...
TROS. Actually I would just take out the fake o

-Forget Canto Blight. Finn and Rose go to CORUSCANT, cut the slavery bullshit, we get to see the nightlife of Coruscant's elite, no escape on animals either.
-Have Luke travel with Rey to meet Snone and Kylo, be it to save Rey from suicid or to attempt to save his nephew I don't care, have a clash between Snoke and Luke, both psychological in trying to turn Ben Solo to their side and physical in a FORCE BATTLE.
-Luke dies by physically fighting Ben and his entire army, saving the resistance for real.
-Have Ben Solo KILL Palpatine with Anakin's FORCE GHOST as assistance, why did Rey even kill him? He's the one in need of a sort of "redemption", killing the man who manipulated him from the start is the least he could do.
This way the trilogy would still have been shit but hey, it would have been better than the garbage they served us.
First, I liked the new movies well enough. They were fun. They were cool. They're really well made and acted. But I think the thing that's kind of sticking with me is the disconnect within the through-line of the story. Specifically, with Rey's heritage. The more I think about it, the more bothered I get.
I loved the idea of her parents being nobody special in Last Jedi. I liked subverting the expectations there and sending a message that you don't have to be galactic royalty to make a difference.
But within that, understanding it's a big plot point to carry through and needs to be addressed further in the final movie. So here's what I'd do:
In Force Awakens, I'd set the scene of Snoke a little more clearly. Lightly -- LIGHTLY -- tease a connection between him and Palpatine. I've sort of got this idea of an Admiral Thrawn type character, living somewhere in the galaxy as an influential member of the former Empire. And he makes it his mission to restore it, via the Dark Side. Basically, he wants to bring the glory of the Emperor Palpatine back. And that might even mean somehow bringing back Palpatine altogether.
In Rey's vision in Maz's basement, I'd throw in an extra one: Someone putting a baby in an escape pod and jettisoning it from the second Death Star right before it blows up.
Last Jedi goes about the same way it did. That's all fine. If you want to be heavy handed, tease Palpatine a little more. That his essence exists somehow, somewhere in the galaxy. Not as a Force ghost, necessarily, because Dark Siders don't have Force ghosts, but his spirit lives on. (Someone better versed in Star Wars canon and lore may have an example here.)
But in Rise of Skywalker, we get into the extrapolating this all:
Rey's parents are, indeed, no one. They are junk traders, buried in a pauper's grave. Kylo wasn't lying or wrong at all. Because, those weren't really Rey's parents. They were her adopted parents. Rey doesn't actually have parents.
I hesitate to get into the clone stuff, because that feels a little cheap, so someone more creative could do this better, but Rey is, effectively, Palpatine. She's basically his living spirit/essence as a human. Going off the assumption that Palpatine was responsible for getting Shmi Skywalker pregnant via the Force, before the fall of the Empire, Palpatine created Rey to be sort of a future horcrux of sorts for him in case he gets thrown into a reactor core or something.
And right before the Death Star was destroye

It's similar to the previous trilogies but with a twist. Now Finn has purpose, he can go to Ahch-to and tension can come from their different approaches. Rey's still very gung-ho but now that gets her into danger, Finn is still cautious but now he's unsure about using his powers. They get frustrated with each other but ultimately develop respect for each other over the course of the trilogy and develop their force powers over a believable timeframe. (Also, now Poe maybe has to overcome jealousy in TLJ and ROS because he shifts to become the weak link or something).
TFO are totally separate from the old Imperial forces but maybe attract some remnant. Maybe Hux and Phasma see the New Republic isn't going so well and start thinking they can bring back the good/efficient parts of the Empire without the evil. Kind of a more noble version of Herzog's speech from Mandalorean ep6 about the chaos after the Empire.
There's no Starkiller Base and maybe TFO gain the upper hand by sneaking a planet-destroying bomb onto Hosnian Prime and detonating it (or something like that) the Republic forces just that tiny bit behind and barely fail to stop them.
The Sith are also weaker. TFA could be about how TFO are infiltrated by the Sith and manipulated into doing increasingly morally questionable things (all those classic "for the greater good" lies). Because Kylo and Snoke are relatively weak they have to rely on strategy more than brute force as they gradually gain more power throughout the trilogy and subtly depose Hux. This creates plot tension throughout the trilogy as there's a kind of force-users arms race between them and Rey/Finn.
This also provides opportunity for Hux to maybe become a more sympathetic character as he struggles with his moral compass (and realising he's not going to be emperor and is just a puppet). Maybe he does something redeeming in the end. He could be juxtaposed with Phasma who gains actual character traits and gradually gives in to her psychopath blood-lust as she aligns herself with the Sith.
2.5) No Palatine!
I think this would create nuanced, realistic, believable tension and

Not talking about story or gameplay overhauls, just some small but important improvements.
Besides the usual "hyperspace ram" or "no casino planet" comment. Something not mentioned as much.
Mine is not having the New Republic be so crippled/wiped out. I would liked to have seen the dynamic of a strong Good Guy government against the remnants of the empire, which are now the underdogs.
I am kind of disappointed to have to witness outnumbered heroes vs more powerful villains with a huge army again. I already saw that in the OT, I really do not want to see it again...
Okay so I just finished KoS and one thing that has been kind of bugging me.
Is tailoring someone now permanent unless reversed via tailoring? It was pretty well established in SaB and SoC that tailoring someone was a temporary thing. Think (Genya telling Alina it will only last a few days, there was concern that Mattias' prison replacement's tailoring would wear off while he was in the infirmary, Mattias himself was tailored and Nina had to re-tailor him multiple times on the way to the ice court, People were worried that Alinas body double would change back before she was burned, Nina making a huge deal about Wylans tailoring possibly being permanent because of param before being easily reversed by Genya).
In KoS Nina is tailored to look like a fjerdan and it seemingly lasts forever now? Also before someone mentions that it would depend on the skill of the tailor and Genya's tailoring would last a long time... Think about Hanna (brand new, no skill tailor) tailoring herself and asking "What if I cant change it back?" Nina replying "then we'll find someone who can". Wouldn't she just say "it will go away on its own" instead? Isaac is tailored to look like Nikolai and they never mention having to "touch him up" at all and even after he dies , Genya has to tailor him back. When Nikolai sees Zoya's scars he asks why she never got them tailored off (implying that she could remove them forever). Why would he even ask this? If the Original trilogy rules applied than she may have had them removed and it very well could have worn off by now considering they were traveling together and then in the twilight zone for at least 3 weeks.
One other inconsistency that is completely off topic..It is established that the Saints cannot die unless by their own power.. Elisaveta cannot kill Juris so she uses his own power against him.. Why the hell is she able to kill that other saint guy using her bugs to eat him? Wouldn't the same rules apply???
One last gripe... Leoni reveals to the group that a Grisha healer died saving her life. Its obvious this is Jesper's mother but there is 0 payoff to this reveal. She even says the surname of the woman Fahey and we get crickets from Nina. I can't remember if Jesper revealed his past to the group or if it was an inner monologue/Wylan only conversation but Nina sure as hell knew Jesper's last name and that him and his widower dad lived in Novi Zem. I feel like we needed some dialogue there between Nina and Leoni.
I'll go first!
Your turn!
Hello I donβt know how to do introductions but the title says it all so Iβm gonna skip straight to the point.
-original trilogy Honestly canβt think of much Iβd change. Itβs what came first and is just the most Star Wars thing ever. I guess more obi wan but thatβs the most I can think of
-prequel trilogy Honestly , Iβd change Anakin. I can see him becoming darth Vader in tcw itβs just hard to see it in the movies. Iβd say start with aging him up to 14 maybe in tpm. As much as I love Hayden, Iβd personally choose someone who could have more of the darth Vader inflection if that makes sense. Make him more dark I guess. While yeah he has dark side tendencies in atoc I just donβt really buy him becoming Vader.
Sequel trilogy- what Iβd change is making the big bad less similar to the empire , making it have more elements of the pt on top of its own thing. More politics like the prequels. And making Finn a Jedi along side Rey.
And thatβs about it. I know the pt section is longer than the st part but itβs mostly because I felt it needed to be elaborated more. Anyways thatβs about it. If you have any changes youβd make lmk
I'll start. As a Bowser main, platforms can be very difficult to deal with. Being able to drop through platforms while using flame breath, similar to K. Rool and his blunderbuss, would be insane for mix-ups and ledge trapping.
A while back I asked a question on why Saren looks so different from other turians, and evidently in the original plan of ME1, Saren was supposed to slowly change throughout the game to visually show that Sovereign is indoctrinating him. Since then I thought that was a super interesting bit that I thought would have really added to the game. Thatβs one little thing I really hope for ME1 in the remaster - small things like that really add to the magic.
I was a sheltered teenager when I read the Guide and it opened my eyes to whole different kind of humor and showed me a side of science fiction/fantasy that I didn't know existed. I felt like I had stumbled into a new realm that offered a whole different reading experience from the drier (but still good) sci-fi I had always read. So, when my kids got into their teens I steered them to the Guide to see what they thought. Has been fun seeing others discover it.
Some changes I'd personally make (these are just general ideas; I haven't fleshed them out much):
I am extremely excited to die quite a lot.
I was a fan of the sequel trilogy until recently. I liked Adam Driverβs performance as Kylo Ren and that was enough to carry the trilogy for a while...but almost a year later iβve realized that the trilogy has left me empty inside. Hereβs my issues with the trilogy and what i would have done differently:
Poe: there should have been more focus on him being the best pilot in the galaxy. I think he should have perished as a hero in the battle of Exegol. Fortunately there was some character development with him (from TLJ being immature and a wise ass to TRoS being a leader); however, his flirtation with Zorii Bliss was wasted screen time and didnβt lead anywhere. That last exchange between the two of them was awkward. As I mentioned, Poe should have went out a hero.
Finn: as a former stormtrooper, he should have led a group of FO stormtroopers (convinced by Finn via a heartfelt speech) against a group of Sithtroopers in TROS in the battle of Exegol. His love arc with Rose should have either continued or not took place at all. Also wasted screen time in TLJ and awkwardness in TROS. The entire Canto Bight sequence was a little silly in TLJ and Finn would have been better off in a Bacta tank for the entirety of TLJ if it meant seizing the day in TroS.
Rose: we didnβt need thus character. Thatβs all Iβm going to say.
Chewbacca: we could always use more Chewbacca. Same with R2D2, C3P0, Wedge, and Lando.
Rey: I personally liked Reyβs story arc throughout the trilogy; however, I would have had Kylo spill the beans on her ancestry right after he killed Snoke In TLJ. At that moment he would have any idea that Palpatine was still alive, only that Rey is the grand daughter (something he learned from Snoke) A mirror to ESB. Once snoke died however, Palpatine would appear via hologram...the twist we didnβt see coming. Palpatine would execute the Final Order and ask both Kylo and Rey for their allegiance. Kylo would be torn as he hated snoke but idolized Palpatine. To Kylo, Palpatine taught Vader everything he knew and therefore he was worth bending a knee too. Rey would obviously be in shock by the news and feel betrayed by Kyloβs allegiance to the Sith. A lightsaber battle would erupt and Rey would escape barely, once again mirroring ESB. In TROS, Rey would still be looking for Exegol to confront Palpatine, not much would change from that point on.
Kylo Ren: after the events stated above, Kylo would seek the wayfinder as he did In Tros. Palpatine wants Kylo to ea
... keep reading on reddit β‘First of all, this is not a complete rewrite like I'm doing for the sequel trilogy. Sure, the prequels do have their share of problems, but those problems aren't as fundamentally crippling as the problems with the sequels. Though I am going to make some changes here, some of these changes are made specifically to keep the trilogy's main story intact, as well as allow the eventual Clone Wars animated series we got to remain mostly how it was and maybe even improve it. Without further ado, onto the tweaks!
Episode I - An Ancient Fear
Did some of you appreciate the prequels more after you watched the sequels would you say?
