A list of puns related to "Skyrunning"
Have a skyline race coming up in Wales and some mountain running in Scotland, so shoe needs to be able to handle the terrain and good enough grip for scrambling on wet rock. Can I just use my Salomon Speedcross? Or do I need more technical shoes like VJ XTREME?
Hey, I signed up for a "sky running" race that's coming up at an average 3500m altitude when I live at only 500m...
I did a 53min 10km (female, 26 if that makes a difference) a couple of months ago, and this race predictor gives me 1:20:00 for 15km.
This calculator that I found seems to give me 1:30:00 for the 3500m altitude... Does that sound reasonable? Can someone else with experience with different altitudes tell me if this calculator works for them? (Looks like you have to put the time/distance for the estimated elevated time and work back to your actual time at your normal level).
I don't really know how to plan for races, but would I be better off doing a run-walk or trying to just lower my pace a bit? I'd be able to do a 15km under normal circumstances, just worried about the elevation.
Thanks for any insight!
Oh... Edit.... I just realized I never really took into account inclination... It basically climbs 550m over 8km and then drops the 550m over the last half... I'm not sure how I feel about this, haha.
