TLDR:

Five of the biggest indie presses will be joining together once again to bid farewell to the holiday season with an epic free/$0.99 sale on Dec. 26th and 27th, and this is our one and only open call for participants. This year we are turning the MegaSale into a charity event to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital! To participate this year, you must pledge to donate $0.01 USD to St. Jude's per book you sell or give away!

THE LONG VERSION:

Wraithmarked Creative, Mountaindale Press, Aethon Books, Shadow Alley Press, and Portal Books are all banding together once again to give r/Fantasy and the speculative fiction reader community an epic sale to bid 2021 goodbye in style.

All speculative fiction books that fit the following parameters are welcome:

1. Book(s) must be made FREE OR $0.99 all day on the 26 and 27th of December, the two days after Christmas.
2. No erotica.
3. No harem, no reverse harem.
4. No racist/hateful content.
5. One major change this year all need to be aware of! This year we are turning the MegaSale into a charity event to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital! To participate this year, you must pledge to donate $0.01 USD to St. Jude's per book you sell or give away! (We are trusting no one has an issue with pediatric cancer research 📷 )

I swear that's not much! For those of you like me who are bad at math, that means:

$1 donated for every 100 books, $10 for every 1000, $100 for every 10,000.

(For context, the average author sold/gave away about 2500 copies last year, so about $25 worth of donation).

Some people are confused why the new maternity hospital wont be owned by the HSE

Most of the big hospitals in Dublin were set up by private entities and the HSE doesnt actually own them, the following is a list of those hospitals.

The HSE doesnt own these hospitals, they are owned by voluntary groups (historically religious groups that set up hospitals before the county/city councils built hospitals) and run by their boards.

The sale of NMH is funding the new hospital so the old owners of NMH will own the new maternity hospital (I guess there was a agreement) (*edit: Im hearing the sisters of charity actually own the site for the new hospital). The HSE would have to buy the hospitals to have them in their name. Some times the Hospitals run out of funding and the HSE agrees to take them over, St Luke’s and St Anne’s Hospital, Highfield Road Dublin 6 is an example
