Well, Louis Armstrong was known as Satchmo, and "Satch" also happens to be the first syllable of that nickname.
His music is a fucking two-pack of ass, man.
For someone who constantly gets pimped around by this site as one of the best guitarists ever, his music just doesn't catch the ear.
Look, music is subjective, and if you like Satriani, then more power to ya. I can't fucking stand his music, and to me, to hear his name constantly brought up with guys like EVH, Gilmour, and Hendrix, and Ahead of guys like Slash, Santana, and Clapton is a disgrace.
Sure, he is talented technically, but what is the point of being technically gifted if it sounds like you're choking an ostrich every time you pick up the guitar? A guy like Gilmour is the antithesis of everything Satriani is. Yes, he has the technical skill, but he deliberately plays slower, more soulful guitar pieces because soul is more important than technique.
