I was bartending one night when a ticket came through for a Moscow mule (shaken not stirred). We have a very young staff so I pulled the server aside and explained why that doesn't make sense and asked her to please double check with the customer.
"He is very adamant," she said.
I made it, shook gently a couple of times for show and sent it.
She immediately brought it back. Apparently he didn't hear enough shaking from his table and asked that I remake the drink properly.
No problem. I shook that thing for so long that my arm was sore. I made sure that there was not one single bubble left.
I watched him hide the grimace on his face every time he took a sip, celebrating his victory.
Edit: to clarify, he was very specific in what he wanted. That included the ginger beer being shaken. He also ordered an IPA after telling the server he didn't like hoppy beers.
You’ll see people say ill take <insert alcoholic drink> shaken not stirred. Why would you prefer one over the other?
