A list of puns related to "Seventh day Adventist Hymnal"
I write about it on a blog http://DisruptingAdventism.blogspot.com and a book "Disrupting Adventism."
I have no desire to make any money from it, just make people aware.
I have wondered, what makes a person create these cults?
In the end, I was told to not come around, as I knew too much after 5 years. My wife's parents are in it and it had contributed to her father's rapid health decline.
My wife and I did a bed and breakfast recently with a lovely couple that loved to talk about God and and goodness. They talked a lot of Christ and his sacrifice, love, and church. They even have done many mission trips. I canβt say I know a ton about their beliefs but I was a little surprised at some stuff. Of course they talked about the sabbath stuff a bit but they believe in soul sleep, annihilationism, and some very strong convictions about the nearness of Jesusβs return. Following their beliefs they do hold strongly to sola fide and sola scriptura which led me to ask if they consider themselves evangelical. They say no but them seem to fit the category to me. What do reformed here categorize them as? Evangelical, orthodox, heterodox, heretical for something Iβm unaware of? I confess my ignorance about their denomination.
Looking at the r|antivegan faq/sidebar; I'm inclined to believe that whatever dipshit wrote this thinks all vegans are pawns of the 7th Day Adventist church's trillion dollar conspiracy to get this-- follow the non-violent suggestions by God and Jesus in the bible-- (idiots). But here's the thing, I went out seeking some of these fools by going to a 7th Day Adventist church and they weren't fucking vegans. In fact, I never even met a vegan anywhere who was. Have you? I mean it's great that anti-vegan bases its platform on irreligion and nihilism and stuff, but in what fucking world do they think a bunch of counter-culture vegans constantly making Hail Seitan! jokes, doing drugs and listening to death metal are freaking bible thumpers? Let's ignore logic for a second and suspend reason obviously since were talking about fucking morons, but the bigger question is; where are all the Seventh Day Adventist Vegans? Do they really even exist? Okay so maybe not on a reddit named after masturbation, but has anyone even ever met one in real life?
Please share any answers and/or funny fundies-snarking-on-other-fundies anecdotes
Hi, I'd like to explore whether Palm Springs area might be an option for my mom. She lives in Bloomington, IL but I'd like to bring her out closer to me, at least for 5-6 months a year (snowbird style.. Nov or Dec until April-sih).
She's 75 years old, recently a widow, very into church (Seventh Day Adventist), Japanese but has lived in US for 45+ years. She doesn't have too many hobbies, but makes friends easily and would like to be around other 7th day folks. I'm her only child, and my wife and I live in Newport Beach. I work remotely (have for years) and could be out to visit her whenever, or even stay with her there for a week at a time.
My questions (thanks in advance!!):
(for the sake of argument, let's say I can afford a $450,000 house or condo, and it would be available for May-Nov)
Thank you!!
A relative had passed away and the family was meeting together at the hospital. Here were her words before arriving:
βI really hope my brother doesnβt use this time of grief as a chance to preach his SDA beliefs. There should be a time and place for everything but I know heβll still do it. Itβs so sad because I barely recognize him anymore. Him and his wife really are so brainwashed! I feel bad for his kids.β
Biggest example of cognitive dissonance Iβve ever witnessed in my life.
There are 168 Mormon temples, which are used only for βsacredβ occasions. Only those who are βworthyβ are allowed to enter.
There are 116 Adventist hospitals, which are used to improve the health of millions of people.
Guess which organization is growing faster.
Today, over 25 million people worship weekly in Seventh Day Adventist churches.
Mormon growth rate in 2020: 0.60%
Adventist growth rate: 2.5%
The Adventist are among the fastest-growing religious organizations in the world.
Think about that.
Most perspectives I've seen (here in Reddit at least) are from nonmembers and/or former believers. I'm curious about how their adherents actually respond to this kind of question.
It was sad to see how much our congregation has shrunk as many of the elders have passed away. Are your churches having the same issue?
I've listened to stuff about Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Catholics. Are there any good Podcasts/episodes that give a good overview of the Seventh Day Adventists?
Edit: I found a few episodes in No Compromise podcast about SDAs. Has anyone tried it?
I was able to trace Marco's employment through 2017, but unable to find anything on his spouse subsequent to about 2011. These people were big players in the SDA church camps near Lake Tahoe in the '00s.
