A list of puns related to "Self regulation"
I'm doing a lot of work right now (with a therapist) to reconnect to feelings as they arise in the body and learning to tolerate a broad spectrum of emotions. This is going really well, and I'm able to do the same alone, but only to a point - bigger feelings still overwhelm me. I really want to develop my self-regulation skills but I'm not sure how.
I like to meditate and do yoga, but again, when I'm overwhelmed I find the these practices slip rapidly into rumination and/or dissociation.
Does anyone have any ideas about practices I can do alone to self-regulate and stay in my body and be with my emotions? Maybe meditation/yoga styles, or anything really.
Armed drones should fall under 2A. I know the FAA doesn't want civilians to have such a tool because it would be seen as too powerful. Well guns are by themselves, just as powerful. Carrying a firearm creates almost as much risk to the user as it alleviates. Yet carrying on a drone there is zero risk. Drones are the future I think cops should also get replaced by AI drones.
Are their certain factors or personality profiles more prone to having both of these traits? Is it possibly predictive of certain challenges or mental illnesses?
I donβt mean self-control issues with anger or saying mean things or being impatient or reckless but self-control issues like overreacting, smoking, not doing things I donβt want to/feel like doing, promiscuity, and emotional dysregulation.
Recently my friend travelled to Krabi and was told by some other friend he had to do a self-quarantine at his accommodation for 14 days. However, I canβt see if this is true or not during the time frame they travelled he has been doing it but Iβm just curious. If he left Bangkok and arrived Krabi on the 28th of April would he be able to leave earlier or have to do 14 days and leave on the 12th of May.
Thankfully he has been doing the self-quarantine however, I canβt find anything about it online.
Thanks for any responses

Hi everyone,
So I have been a mouth breather all my life but only lately trying to see the link between this and high anxiety levels, stress and unsafe attachment every since I was little. I've been making a transfer from mouth breathing to nose breathing for the last two months and much has improved in my daily life and nose breathing methods also help with anxiety a lot.
There is however one thing about my inner nose that still is not allowing to take in all the oxygen I need through my nose. It feels like it is tight, and tightening up more when I breathe in. Like it is creating a vacuum on the inside by breathing in.
The strange thing however is that when I pull my nostrils forward it is gone. As if by pulling the nostrils I pull the tissue tight so it can't create a vacuum. And thus when I do this I am able to take the oxygen I need through my nose. It actually feels really pleasant to be able to take in so much air through my nose. Additionally, when I do this, my diaphragm seems to relax and I am able to do belly breathing more easily.
When I hold it for a longer period the following happens: I feel my throat relax and some kind of gag reflex starts, after some seconds my diaphragm starts relaxing and i can breathe into my pelvic floor rather than upper chest. So I was thinking that a frozen diaphragm, knots in my stomach and throat are all due to CPTSD and this creates the vacuum in my nostrils. And that this pulling of my nose is sort of resetting my system (as some polyvagal Excercises do) to a new 'safe mode'
I was wondering however, if anyone could have an explanation for this on a physiological and emotional level? And maybe has a similar experience?
I have realized that a major part of the functional difficulties caused by ADHD are related to self-regulation. I am very ambitious, but I can't sustain it long enough to be consistent. If I get emotional or distracted by something in my personal life, it can completely derail my focus and concentration. Many of my goals get abandoned because I have trouble pushing myself through emotional slights or failures or discomfort. I don't think this is solely a result of ADHD, but also my highly unstructured upbringing with an emotionally unregulated parent. At this stage, I want to learn these tricks so that I can improve my capacity to achieve.
I rely a lot on routines and controlling my environment to maximize consistent outputs, but if COVID has taught us anything, life can throw a lot of curve balls and we need to be adaptive to able to work through it. I am not. My career is also one that requires me to be flexible.
What has helped you self-regulate and achieve?

We recently got a gorgeous BC puppy (13 weeks old now), and she has been amazing. Her only accidents in the house are our fault (she signals she needs to go, and we donβt take her out RIGHT away), and she has taken to training quite well. While our puppy is incredibly friendly with other people and dogs, we have run into the issue that it takes her forever to calm down after the excitement of playing/meeting new people or dogs/going for a walk...etc. She spends an hour or two going crazy, from zoomies to spending the whole time biting our shoes, itβs a bit frustrating to deal with, and so I was hoping to solicit some ways in which to help train our puppy how she can self regulate. Currently when she goes crazy, we either give her the bed command, and then do bite inhibition training exercises but treats and that training only keep her attention so long. We typically give her some sort of chew toy as she is teething right now, but that doesnβt always do the trick. It then becomes a guessing game of what need she needs taken care of, ie: offering her food or water/taking her out to potty, usually multiple times until she finally takes care of her needs. We are guessing that she is just getting over stimulated, and then gets overtired and is essentially throwing a tantrum until she calms down, but Iβd like to figure out how we can help teach her how to self-regulate.
This is my wifeβs first pet and my first border collie, so any advice is greatly appreciated!
I'm in my apartment by myself, and honestly, it is difficult to get yourself to do anything responsible. The only things that have kept me motivated are time pressure and fear of disappointing people.
Even getting myself to bed within a reasonable time is a struggle. Though I want to make a life for myself as an adult, most of the time it feels like I would benefit from some kind of supervision.
Lack of sleep is the first thing I will have to conquer in order to feel like I'm succeeding at life. How do the rest of you do it?
Hello! Please share the #1 thing that has helped you calm your nervous system.. essential what helps you down regulate when you feel your nervous system ramps up (of course in unnecessary, non-threatening scenarios) Any supplements, meditations, behavioral practices, etc.!

An American Congressional report just revealed that Gerber baby food has toxic levels of heavy metals like arsenic and cadmium in it. The FDA doesnβt even regulate heavy metals in baby food. This and several other stories should be covered in a Business Blaze video.
Another recent example is the ongoing saga of the Boeing 737 MAX, which has been grounded again. And Boeing is developing a space capsule; the parachute will be an optional extra, obviously.
A less fatal example that still really amazes me is the incredible βqualityβ of General Motors cars. According to officially published documents (it was in a textbook for a GD&T [Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing] class I just took), GM allows 1300 βmoderate to severeβ manufacturing defects for every 1000 cars they produce; meaning every car GM sells can be expected to be defective in some way. Toyota and Honda allow about 10 defects per 1000 cars.
Itβs almost as if capitalists will slash quality to the bone the moment theyβre allowed to.
Feel free to add more examples of self regulation gone exactly the way youβd expect it to.
Don't feel embarrassed or dejected or hopeless about sharing your opinion/voice/ideas, people. Your voice matters. Being cynical about this is self-fulfilling and defeatist - there's no harm commenting. (Edit: was thinking about "no harm commenting" and that may not be compeltely accurate if you're not wanting to let the gubmint know you are interested in the space/cryptocurrency, but there are probably multiple other ways "they" already know; anyway, use a different name and VPN if you're worried about it) This is what democracy is about. If you/we don't exercise the right, it very well may disintegrate before our/your very eyes.
Take five or fewer minutes to write a little something - it may actually make a big difference.
Some ideas:
Short commenting period is undemocratic
Short commenting period for something so complex doesn't make any sense
This is about freedom and liberty
This is about something bigger than all of us; separation of churchmoney and state/government
