Marina Diamandis is a Welsh singer, songwriter, and Libra who currently goes by simply “Marina” or MARINA, if you’re an album listing. At the time of Electra Heart, she went by “Marina and the Diamonds,” a clever styling on her own name, but in recent times, she decided to stick to just “Marina,” presumably because everyone kept thinking she was a group instead of one person. Previously, Marina released The Family Jewels in 2010. It was an indie pop-inspired album full of bops about commercialism, sexuality and intimacy, and (checks notes) not being about other girls? The album drew attention to Marina’s various vocal styles, from strong ballads (Numb is the best song on this album don’t @ me) to whatever the hell this is.
Electra Heart is Marina’s second album, released on April 27, 2012. It is a concept album exploring female identities expressed in four archetypes: “Su-Barbie-A,” “Primadonna.” “Homewrecker,” and “Teen Idle.” These archetypes make up the identity of the character Electra Heart. They are heavily inspired by Hollywood female icons such as Marilyn Monroe, as well as the Tumblr-girl culture that shaped a lot of early-2010s trends. Electra Heart’s signature look includes a single heart drawn on her cheek in eyeliner. Her hairstyles vary throughout the era, but the heart is nearly always present. The archetypes are seen throughout the album, but as for which archetype is the theme of which songs seems to be up to interpretation. The sound of the album is primarily electropop, taking a lot of influence from the EDM trend that was taking over pop at the time.

I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the course of several years playing this game because I loved it. Opening crates with keys that cost $1 was exciting because you could obtain any item from that crate with it. This made items more rare and unique and therefore more desirable. Now with the blueprint system not only do you have to get extremely lucky ~1% chance to get a black market item from revealing a blueprint, but you also have to pay through the nose, DAMN NEAR $20 FOR A SINGLE BLACK MARKET ITEM! You do realize that this game brand new with no discount is $19.99 right?
After this patch you will be receiving exactly $0 from me moving forward. While I really want to get the next rocket pass I cannot condone this type of blatant money-grabbing behavior forced upon your dedicated player base that brought you the success to be where you are now.
You've literally managed to alienate your most dedicated fanbase with one fell swoop. The entire reason this game is still played is due to the Esports/Youtube scene giving it life. (RIP Jonsandman crate openings)
I think I speak for most all of the veteran players when I say we played this game for so long because we loved the game and supported it every step of the way. You really messed up here Pysonix/Epic. Good luck trying to save face.

- We Don't Have Fear: I've experienced a lot of negatively in my life but none of that can break me. When I was young I was so fearful of everything and everyone but now i'm free.
- Lucy: A love song to the drug LSD. It's also a double entredre because some people think i'm just talking about a girl.
- The Mob: My homie and I were chilling in the studio one night. We came up with this slapper.
- Cartier Goggles: Another fun song. Experimenting with singing and all that.
- Ash In Sacramento: I made this one during the recent California wildfires. The whole atmosphere was covered in ash so I tried to make this song feel like what the weather felt like.
- Breaking Point: The podcaster A2thaMo reached out to me about collaborating on a song together. After listening to his music I wrote this song because I figured it would fit his style. He sent me his verse and the rest is history.
- The Megalomanic: Straight bar rapping. Every now and then I hop on some old school boom bap to remind people I can really do this rap stuff.
- Grapes From The Vineyard: The featured artist Hunnit and AC Harden are my real life homies. Another case of us chilling in the studio and creating.
- Mountain On The Moon: Sometimes I think I would be happier if I was just away from society. This song builds on that concept.
- God Don't Love No Coward: I was going for an old school Aesop Rock feel with this one but it might not be for everybody. Another track where I show off my lyrical ability.
- Lyrical Deadlifting: This is me venting about America and today's society.
- Season's Change: A beautiful outro in my opinion. My favorite line, "Why the seasons change, I don't know, they changing me." Just a reminder that change is constant in life.
I am happy that we have similar interests at all, and wish to discuss with you the few songs we do have in common. I am glad that my favorite artist has reached you in any way, and hope we can use this point to forge a new friendship.
Do you remember in season 1 and book 1 when Sansa fell madly in love with Joffrey? You have to remember, in the books Joffrey is a very beautiful young man, he looks like a young version of Jaime. He is the heir of the Iron Throne, the future King and he is incredible beautiful. How can Sansa not fall in love with him?
In the beginning, Joffrey is always polite and sweet in front of Sansa, he makes sure to keep his evil behavior under traps so Sansa has no motive to think badly about him. Eventually Joffrey does start to show his true self but at that point Sansa is already in love with him, so, she closes her eyes, pretend to not see it and makes excuses for his behavior. Until the very end, when Joffrey cuts down Eddar Stark head and shows his true self for Sansa, breaking her heart in a million of pieces. That’s what it’s going to happen with Daenerys in season 8. She will finally show to the audience her true self, breaking their hearts in a million of pieces.
- THE FIRST SCENE
The very first scene with Daenerys in season 1 its in the balcony of her room in Pentos its almost angelical. She looks so beautiful and ethereal. This could never be final monster of the story right? Haha, oh George, how I love you.
In season 1 Daenerys was very sweet and endearing, its impossible to not fall in love with the little princess forced into marriage to a savage by her evil brother. She is kind, fragile and sweet, so sweet. Then in the following seasons and books she starts to show us a more ruthless and cruel side, but we are already in love with her, so we just close our eyes and try to justify all of her actions and terrible behavior.
Daenerys is obsessed with the Iron Throne, in fact she will spend years walking around Essos, invading cities and starting wars in order to have armies to invade Westeros, but when asked about her actions, she always comes up with generous answers. “Oh, she is sacking Astapor to save the Unsulied from the evil masters”, “oh she wants Meereen to revenge the crucified children”, “oh she took the Dotrahki from their homes because she will lead them better than their own khals”. And we believe her, blindly. WE WANT TO BELIEVE, SHE IS THE HERO OF THE STORY!!!!

If any have real value please change my mind, it’s such a drag on vinyl. H&B the song is one of his absolute best to me, and they barely give it an ending before cutting into Numbers, which just sounds ridiculous and meaningless in comparison. It’s like half of the album is amazing and the other half is hardly listenable in comparison.
ALL the reviews over at Metal-Archives are giving this album above 75%. I would give the album a 45%.
There's not a catchy moment, an inspired guitar lick, an impressive vocal performance on a single song on this whole album. The choruses are barely melodic and repetitive. There's zero energy.
It's like a bunch of "didn't make the cut" Freedom Call songs whose instrumentation was fed into a "metal song generator."
Of course, others disagreed, and what I'm saying is not, "I'm right and they're wrong"; what I'm saying is, "Does anyone else see it my way or did my brain break somehow?"
Of course, after listening to Tyr's Hel, ANYTHING would sound worse, but still. . . .
