What is the origin of the rule that a measurement instrument must not consume more than 10% of the tolerance span of its intended measurement?

I work in industrial metrology, and when an instrument is chosen to measure a particular characteristic, there is a ubiquitous rule that the ideal instrument’s repeatability and reproducibility amount to no more than 10% of the tolerance span on that characteristic.

For example, if a hole diameter is toleranced to be its nominal size to within +/- 1mm, a caliper or gauge used to measure that diameter must not vary by more than 0.2mm between repetitions and change of operators.

The rule is enshrined in the automotive industry’s measurement systems analysis standard. I’m sure it is is there in other industries and probably in a general ISO.

But my question is what is it’s origins. I figured Demings or Shewhart, as they are the major statisticians and theorists in this field, but I’ve gone through some of their major works and can’t find them referencing this rule let alone establishing it. Any citations or ideas?

What is the origin of the "joke" of two shots to the back of the head being rules as a suicide?

I've seen this "joke" or maybe a black/dark joke of either some kind of investigators or the coroner claiming that two (or more) shots to the back of the head were a suicide. Given that even a brazing hit from a bullet is often enough to knock you out, and how most gun suicides are done either through the mouth or on the temple, it seems that the assumption in the joke is that the death was an execution of some kind, and that the investigators and/or coroners are being pressured or bribed into officially marking it as a suicide. Sometimes they ignore it because they think the victim deserved it, and don't want to bother investigating further. These apply more to fiction than real life, as my google-fu has failed in coming up with even cases related to the phenomenon, let alone it's origins.

Most i've found is something that seems to explain a variant of the joke on quora, about how someone who got black listed by Stalin got suicided like this... And even then, there's no evidence that it's anything but a joke...

So, where does the joke come from and does it have any basis in reality (as in, people claiming something clearly not suicidal is a suicide) or is just some joke that's spread over the years...

Rules about country of origin labeling

I'm awful when it comes to law, so maybe you guys could help me - I'm looking for anything regarding labeling products made in and outside of the EU as "Made in X", where X is country of origin, AKA how big part of the product has to be made in X to be legally labeled as "Made in X".
For example, company ABC (made-up name) produces something in one of the EU countries, X, but adds to that a book (not a booklet/manual, but a proper book, which they also sell on their own), which clearly says "Printed in Z", and then labels the entire box as "Manufactured in X" - that doesn't look right to me.
Would be great if you could point me to any law regarding labeling products and their country of origin, as I am absolutely clueless.

anyone familiar with ublock origin filter syntax, I ussing and it has succesfully removes parts of a site. What rule allows replacement?

(update) This might be the way to solve this problem check out this info on How to edit an IndexedDB database https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BYuQxr84Bg so maybe a way to inject indexeddb data into a webpage . Loooking into what can be be down with IndexedDB database.

ublock origin filter syntax, I using and it has successfully removed parts of a site.

This rule ##DataTables_Table_1 > .recenttBody > tr.even:nth-of-type(2) that works but it causes everything else to get out of wack breaks the table. what syntax could i uses or an extension in conjunction with ublock that would then replace that table with whitespace or even Lorem Ipsum text?

Does ublock allow replacement of what is selected element to be blocked or is ublock extension strictly for the removal of elements of a website and has or will not recognize javascript that his trying to inject text image or data into what was was selected to be replaced?

Does anyone know of a way to do this by using static storage if it's not possible to use the U block filter taxes are chrome extension that anyone know of that does the blocking and replacement of element

some more info i gathered for this project I'm looking to build my own first will do some research on extensions that are currently available that would possibly have a solution block origin is great for selecting certain areas of website even X X path or to your tabs within the table but I need to replace those with different text otherwise the tables around where now it is possible for you to do such thing because there's a bad block called https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/catblock/mdcgnhlfpnbeieiiccmebgkfdebafodo?hl=en or https://getcatblock.com/ so it is allowed by chrome to do such activity. I've been using custom blocker, but again I cannot figure out a way to replace what I blocked/removed https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/customblocker/elnfhbjabfcepfnaeoehffgmifcfjlha The great thing about the custom block after the page finishes loading it runs its rules. Ublock origin can also accomplish this and a lot faster seconds faster. So the rules that they are using our JavaScript right and It is possibly the way we can point to local storage on the local storage. I've been messing around with an extension called Storage Area Explorer located here https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ocfjjjjhkpapocigimmppepjgfdecjkb which shows the all the rules and filters and I was able to assess the export to

Stupid rule I made for Origins and Odyssey - no horses allowed cities

Since the games have become so big and country sized, we don't spend as much time in cities as we used to, and we're always moving from place to place. Because of this, we (at least I) don't feel as connected to Alexandria or Athens as we did with Paris or Firenze. To counter this, I decided that while in a city I will only walk or parkour if I need to move inside a city and I will only use horses when moving from cities to cities. (Of course missions where riding a horse inside the city is mandatory don't count). It honestly has helped me find a new appreciation for the games and you can see how much effort and detail has gone into this places. I encourage you to give it a try.

EDIT: Oops, looks like I did a mistake in the title :p
