Dharmarajeshwara Temple, built in 4th-5th century, is one of the early examples of Indian rock-cut temple architecture. This monolithic temple, located in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh, India, has been constructed using solid natural rock, and bears similarity to the Kailasa Temple at Ellora.

Mahishasura Mardini Cave Temple, T.Nadu,is a Excellent example of Hindu engineering and architecture. It's an excellent example of early Pallava architecture when rock cut buildings and temples were built.

A cave hotel I passed by in Cappadocia, Turkey before sunset. The architecture is out of this world. Restaurants, lodging and some stores are built in caves.

This theatre in Petra was carved out of solid rock in the 1st century AD under the reign of King Aretas IV. It can hold up to 4000 spectators and is one of the marvellous displays of Nabataean architecture. [2560 x 1704]

TIL that The Chapel of Sound designed by Chinese architecture studio Open Architecture. Was created in order to see thae shape of sound. The irregular geometry of the building relates to the rock formation of the surroundings, makes the chapel look surreal
