A list of puns related to "Red Line Synthetic Oil Corporation"
π€£π
Thought I'd share my experience as I'm usually skeptical of claims about lubricants and additives. The transmission (108,000 miles) of my 2002 Nissan Maxima was feeling notchy and sometimes would really resist going into 1st or 2nd. I wrote it off as age and the syncros wearing out. But I just had the oil replaced with the Red Line product. It made a significant difference in shift feel - everything is much smoother. It was money well spent; wish I'd done it earlier.
"Plant based milk" is not milk, it's marketing term used to sell random synthetic products to line up the pockets of large corporations. If soy-milk is milk, then chalk is salt.

Can I swap my 2001 4.0 to synthetic oil to get it to last longer? Is there any reason not to do this? Any precautions I need to take when swapping to synthetic from regular like making sure it really drains out well before or what?
I had a place do the change. I chose the lesser of two synthetic oil options.
I run my car quite a bit in the city for work so I am concerned if that has caused it to need an oil change sooner than usual.
Or did the oil change place simply not set something right to tell the computer I wont need an oil change until 10,000 miles?
I am concerned because I have a big trip coming up and donβt want to run into issues by running the car hard all day long if it actually already needs an oil change.
What are they charging these days ?
My Service Engine Soon light came on the other day. When I had a friend look at the car, he said the oil was low and dirty and definitely needed to be changed.
I read somewhere that the MINI Cooper needs synthetic oil, which is a bit more expensive than I can immediately afford. Does the MINI Cooper really need synthetic oil, or will standard get by?
I was under the impression that they last far longer well past 5000-7000 but the guys at the oil change place still gave me a sticker saying come back in 3000.
Is that just an attempt to sell more oil change or do I actually need to that often?
Any of you guys running synthetic oil?
I've been doing some research and it seems like it SHOULD not cause a problem, but I wanted to get your take on it.
EDIT: SYNTHETIC OIL IN YOUR MK3
Sorry for the stupid question. My valve cover gasket is slightly leaking and I do plan on fixing it. In the meantime, is it ok to run Synthetic Oil? I read conflicting opinions that conventional helps seal the gasket whereas synthetic is too clean and exposes microscopic cracks in the rubber gasket hence it leaks more? My engine has 260,000 miles. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Has anyone gone full synthetic on their cb500x? I have a 2021 and was wondering if there is a preference in mileage when making the change?
CAR HISTORY : I am the second owner of a 2010 Honda CRV with recalled piston rings, the first owner (my mother) had 10 years to get them replaced but didnβt. It has 177k miles on it.
There was an incident 6 years ago where the check engine light turned on for my mom to discover there was almost no oil in the car and the engine was in danger of seizing. So fun. (Although prior to that she had NEVER checked oil levels so I donβt think itβs totally the cars fault )
My issue :
Granted, it was about 0 degrees F when I checked the oil and it is still subzero. I use 0W-20 full synthetic oil, and I check the oil 4+ times a week. After driving less than 100 miles, a quart (so 1/4 of the oil in the car) was depleted. I know that synthetic oil contracts in extreme cold, but with the piston ring issue I am kinda paranoid. I used Marvel Mystery oil after I noticed the depletion. Thoughts?
Piston ring failure progressing or just the cold? I cannot afford to fix it anyway, but I figured Iβd find out. Iβve noticed a slight change in acceleration but that also be because it is freezing cold. No change to engine temperature or anything on the levels I can monitor on the dash.
Whelp : drove it like 35 miles today after it sat in -12 degrees overnight and lost like no oil so I guess itβs not dying dying?
