A list of puns related to "Rail inspection"
We are in Sacramento County, California. We are near finishing a major renovation, Kitchen, Master Bath and Master Bedroom. We added a sliding glass window in the kitchen and an exit door in the master bedroom. Our original plan is to put a deck outside spanning both new doors. Money is now running low and we will be delaying the deck. We have an electrician and a plumber that are finished with their work but won't be fully paid until they pass final. In order to pass that final inspection we can't have doors opening onto open space (~38" drop to grade). We can build temp landings and stairs, but that is time and money and would require another permit (due to deck/footings). Can we just put railings across the door openings to prevent a trip/fall hazard? The egress-window spec is already met. We know this has passed in other counties near here.
P.S. I am calling the inspection office on Monday, but thought I'd ask here first.
First time poster, looking for a flashlight that'll roughly satisfy the requirements below. Thanks in advance!
Note 1: I've looked through the recommendation list on this subreddit's sidebar and can't quite find what I'm looking for.
Purpose
To conduct tunnel and rail inspection. Typically dimly lit / pitch black environments.
Inspecting components at close range.
Inspecting at range, approx 100m max distance.
Require decent drop and water protection. (Unnecessary if this raises the price excessively.)
Dust-resistant, especially to prevent build-up on the inside of the glass lens. (Tunnels are dusty.)
Type
Handheld
No need for "zoom" feature; decent mix of throw and flood will do.
No modes required, but the ability to change brightness levels (2-3 levels?) is a plus.
Size
+-15cm in length.
Comfortable to hold in the hand for extended periods.
Battery Type & Quantity
No major preference. Something commonly available will do.
Price Range
USD 15-23
Willing to pay a bit more if there is a leap in quality.
Do let me know if my price range is unrealistic.
Not expecting a name brand.
Lumens
Unsure of what I require specifically.
Something that can light a dim tunnel for up to +- 100m if possible.
Switch Type
Anything but twisty. (Doesn't a twisty design typically imply lack of water / dust resistance?)
Update 1: Considering the Wowtac/Atactical A1
Update 2: Thank you for all the suggestions! I tried to get the A1 but unfortunately they don't deliver to Singapore via their Amazon site. Walked into a local store and picked up a Thrunite TC12 V2 instead for USD 72.30. Couldn't be happier with the purchase, though I can't believe I just spent this much on a light! Will be keeping an eye on this subreddit, and I'm pretty sure I'm on the edge of a rabbit hole.
