Weekend Project. Found this Winegard antenna at a garage sale for $20. Brand new/sealed. The previous Owner bought it for $100 but never installed. Sat in his garage for years. I installed in my attic with an RCA preamp and a Tablo. I'm 47 miles from Chicago transmitters. 77 free channels.

Sony FL-77, I drove a collective 110 miles to pick this up with the only thing guaranteed to work was β€œit opens”. Needs some significant TLC and the right rca connector got smashed so I will need to eventually replace the rca plugs if my neighbor can let me use his soldering station. But it works! v.redd.it/lsthwzdc4z171

Question: I’m connecting my record player to my JBL Eon speaker (RCA to 3.5m + adaptor to 1/4). I was wondering if there is a one input type mixer out there? eg RCA in/XLR out, with volume, Treb, mid, bass controls. (Record player has a pre-amp and Eon is powered)

Microphone cable for RCAs?

Is there some reason microphone cable wouldn't work as RCA cable? I googled and found that they have different impedance values typically so does that make a difference in the signal quality?

Edit: I'm planning to make my own RCAs to my car setup and microphone cable seems to have quite good shielding and is cheaper than typical by the meter RCA cable

I love the PokΓ©mon personality types in DX

You know, when you talk to your teammates in a dungeon, based on their species, they say different things. I'm especially a fan of Bagon, Paras and Graveler's personality type ("Gotta have GUTS!"), Stantler, Mawile and Miltank's (Let me watch your back, won't you, [Name]?"), Manectric's (Gotta get that [item]!") and Zapdos and Arcanine's (especially one of their low-health quotes: "NOT yet... NOT now... NO!")

Do you have a favorite personality type? If so, which PokΓ©mon is it on?

How do RCA pins maintain connection without any spring-type force?

The ground ring on an RCA plug is slightly pushing inward to maintain grip. But the center pin is just a straight rod, not sprung at all like banana plugs. How does it maintain consistent contact with the inside of the plug?

(I hope this isn’t a stupid question)

Does anyone here have type 1 diabetes too? (33M, dx 2016, Rituxan)

I feel like I'm collecting autoimmune diseases and there's not much of a community for those with both T1d and MS. I couldn't find a subreddit for that. My blood sugars are good (never above 7% A1c since diagnosis in 1999) and I've been on Rituximab and exercising regularly and eating well since my dx in 2016. I feel like I'm killin' it but don't know who to celebrate with.

It's weird but I don't think I have much of a burden to bear because I've never felt healthier than I do now. I lost weight in lockdown because I got a spinning bike since I couldn't walk very far. But now I can walk about a mile without a cane at all! tiny celebrations

Does anyone else find your MS symptoms spike when you get severe low blood sugar (<50mg/dL) while trying to walk??

Can anyone relate? I have a wonderful loving supportive wife but sometimes I feel like I'm 1 in a million and completely alone. I feel like a special case just being a man with MS, but the T1d on top makes me feel a rather lonesome.
