Hello,

I"m 33 years old and looking to leave the USA for a little bit. I plan on switching careers in the next 1-2 years and want to take this time off of work to study and travel. I will be taking courses online so I need access to good internet. I have spent the last 6 months improving my Spanish and am now pretty conversationally fluent (I had 4-5 years of foundation from high school and college).

I do not plan on working at all during the year so I think I can take advantage of tourist visas wherever I go. Based on weather and prices, I have chosen these countries to visit:

Spain (March - June 2022): Seville, Malaga, Cordoba, Valencia

Colombia (July-August 2022): Santa Marta, Cartagena, Medellin, Bogota

Mexico (September 2022): CDMX, Oaxaca

France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany (October-December 2022): Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris, Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Munich

Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea (January - March 2023): Manila, Palawan, Quezon City, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Taipei, HK, Seoul

I want to spend most of the year speaking Spanish so most of 2022 is set up the way it is for that reason. From what I can tell the internet in most of these places (except for PH & Indonesia) is pretty good, good enough for me to learn what I need to.

Has anyone here done anything like this ('sabbatical' to level skills)? How was your experience? Does anyone have any additions that they would add to this list? I am thinking about going to Hungary and Turkey as well, but wondering where to fit them in.

PBB is baaaaack! I thought hard about posting in this subreddit again. I am busy this year with work and tasks for a political group for the 2022 elections (Go Pink!), so I might not have time. Plus given how last season went, where the worst possible things happened (read: producer manipulation, and not the good kind) that made me drop the show, maybe doing this again is not worth it because I might drop it again.

This season tho, I will not be doing the time-consuming recaps. You can read that somewhere else. Here I will do daily power rankings of the players to predict if they will win.

This season, PBB is doing the same format of Lucky Season 7 where there will be three batches: Celebs, Teens then Adults. This will be a long season.

So the first episode had celebs again. Before we go further, let's just say that some of these names aren't popular to everyone. Are they celebs? Maybe. The advent of social media made micro-celebs possible. Most of the cast are micro-celebs.

With the way Kumu is so integrated with the season, it's just par for the course that they will stretch the definition of celebrity. Kumu streamers are celebrities now? Ok maybe. They are micro-celebs for the millions that use Kumu.

Here are the celebrity housemates in order of their entrance, and my impressions:

• Madam Inutz, Cavite - social media persona. She looks like a lot of fun, great social game. Looks like she doesn't know how to play to the camera alone yet, though. She entered the house first and was soooo quiet when she was alone. A good player would react loudly to the things they see in the house for the first time (see: Maymay's great entrance in Lucky Season 7)
• Brenda Mage, Cagayan de Oro - comedian. He seems like a looot of fun too. Social game may be good too.
• TJ Valderrama, Manila - comedian. Might be annoying later on.
• Anji Salvacion, Siargao - singer. Boring.
• KD Estrada, Paranaque - singer. Boring.
• Shanaia Gomez, QC - singer. Boring.
• Samantha Bernardo, Palawan - beauty queen. Very articulate but I don't see her making it to the end.
• Eian Rances, Quezon - Kumu streamer - I hate him so much he tries so haaaaard, so rehearsedddd. Will be annoying.
• Alexa Ilacad, Pasig - actress. Will last to the end. That's expected since she's a known actress. Seems to be good-natured unlike Jane from All In so she might even win.
• John Adajar, Laguna - MMA world champion, male pageant king. Why is he sooo stiff? If he doesn

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
