How does one learn and practice Ethan's vocal style. Is there a technique or lack there of of?
I'm a big fan of extreme music but have never really dabbled in slower stuff. I really like death metal, black metal, hardcore, and punk--so, pretty fast stuff. I really liked the sound of Primitive Man's Caustic from a few years ago. I'm looking for more slower-tempo stuff like that. But I gotta say, I don't like the ultra slow almost droney stuff. Is that Stoner metal? Checked out Sleep's Dopesmoker last night and it was not for me. The vocals weren't aggressive enough for me either.
Although at first I was baffled by this scene, now I think I may have found an explanation to this.
The main reason why this scene seems so contradictory is because the vision of human origins in evolutionary theory is directly opposed to that of the Bible. But, something that not many people know is that the Church DID accepted evolutionary theory, with one only concession: at an unknown point of history, God interfered to grant humans a soul.
And this is, in my opinion, the perfect base for the theory. It would be something like this: gods decided to create humans, then they chose an animal from which it will evolve (apes), and when they considered to be the appropiate moment, they took one of the recently evolved humans to Eden (which would be some sort of "playground" where they could evalute their progress and behaviors) and sculpted it to their liking to resemble them the most accurate way possible, creating Adam and what we know as the Homo sapiens species.
