A list of puns related to "Political parties in Russia"
So recently there was voting for the political partys in Russia. The most popular one: United Russia. The second most popular one is the Communist Party of Russia at 25% votes. 1 in 4 people chose communism. Any toughts or opinions? Personaly I think it's kinda cool to see communism still being popular.
I know that during the 1900s radicals formed two partys (SocialRivolutionars and SocialDemocrats) while liberals had their own party (I do not recall the name of this party).
I know that in Russia the Senate and Ministers were formed during Alexander II in 1864 but, during Nicholas II, I read that partys were forbidden. I get my information from Riasanovskyj's History Of Russia and Bartlett's History Of Russia. Still, I can't understand how private and hidden groups managed to have a large following and end up ruling Russia.
The Zar Nicholas II was very autocratic and to keep his powers, he would have torn apart anything reseming western democracy (such as partys). How did they get founded then? How did they manage to make a difference?
I get that many people who had the same ideas would form groups, but at the time there were students circles where people discussed secretly their ideas. So why would someone form a party?
Thanks in advance for the replies.
Will any political parties be removed after the rework? and which ones will be added?
It's propaganja.
I'm wondering if someone could give some background on the Communist Party in Russia, and it's place in Russian politics. It seems they did second best in the most recent Russian election (although there is much speculation about issues of fraud, and beyond that, general suppression efforts, etc), and wondering what's the scoop on them.
I find it quite interesting, bc afaik this is partly a result of Navalny's efforts to locally elect the candidate best positioned to defeated United Russia. Navalny himself doesn't really strike me as a Socialist/Communist (and has had right wing/racist rhetoric in the past), so I'm wondering what the opposition politics are like.
How much did the CPRF win as a result of this voting strategy, and how much was their electoral success a result of connecting economic and labor issues with electoral goals?
