Edit 2: thank you for the extra awards β€οΈβ€οΈ I feel really thankful that I am a part of this sub
Iβm a female and my friend is male And weβre fairly close and heβs a nutritionist so I talk to him sometimes about how I struggle to lose weight.
Iβm 25, 5β4 and 200lbs but Iβm a powerlifter so while I definitely am curvy, I have a decent amount of muscle as well. Iβm active 5+ days a week but I struggle to find my correct deficit calories.
Tonight I made a homemade taco salad. Some Spanish rice, 90% lean ground beef, corn and black beans, reduced fat cheese, romaine, and nonfat Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. I was really excited and I sent a picture to all my friends on Snapchat.
He responded to it like βdude the calories thoughβ and I messaged him WHAT it was and heβs like thatβs still like 600 Easy.
I just totally shut down. I burst into tears bc I was really excited for this meal. I ran 3 miles Today and had protein pancakes and Greek yogurt w berries all day. I told him I was actually really upset bc I wasnβt sending him a pic to discuss calories.
He apologized and I know he didnβt MEAN to upset me. But I donβt even want to eat now. Iβve totally broken down and feel like a failure bc I canβt defeat this weight battle. I know I need to eat but Iβm home alone and really need some support from anyone right now. My mom is away for the weekend and my friends are all busy.
My food is getting cold while I sit here crying.
If anyone is lurking this sub, please be mindful of what you say to your friends. Something you might not mean to be hurtful can trigger someone who ate great all day to save up for an awesome meal
God bless Rip β€οΈ I wish everyone to find a special someone/s who love you the way Rip loves Beth. It is definitely one of my favourite ever male love interests on TV. Because their love is not shown as βlove at first sightβ or filled with crazy sex scenes to make it spicy and play with hormones of emotional viewers like myself. Instead it is shown as someone matura enough to accept the person they love exactly as they are, love and care for them unconditionally whether or not they are having a sexual relationship and simply get them. Not get angry for them being moody or batshit crazy like Beth can be but instead take her with all the good the bad and the ugly. And in return Beth treats him with respect and doesnβt play boss with him, doesnβt exercise her power is not being a crazy bitch like she is with everybody else. There are many things I find weird about YS writing, but Beth and Ripβs relationship is written incredibly beautifully. Adult, mature love without too much unnecessary drama usually given to main characters on TV. Sometimes Beth does or says something and as a traumatised victim of abusive household and consequent relationships I expect Rip and her dad to get angry at her and initiate a fight, they just be incredibly understanding and nice to her until she calms down. And my traumatised abused ass is like βwait, that has been an option all along? To just be nice to each other even when we are being moody?β. I donβt know if itβs just me, probably itβs more personal than anything, but I just wanted to shareβ€οΈ
Q: Whatβs does the polar bear sing in the choir?
A: Baritone
So, times changed pretty quick, eh? I already miss going to the theatre, Iβm a relatively frequent traveller so that has also been hard. But Iβm managing, and part of that is going to be putting some of these out! For people that havenβt seen my posts before, I mostly just voice my opinions on the internet about a group or series of films that I just watched (or, in some cases, rewatched) and then read people complain about those opinions! Itβs fun! If you want some other examples, hereβs one I did for The Grudge series and hereβs another for this yearβs slate of Best Picture nominees. Anyway, on with the show! Letβs talk Jurassic Park!
Jurassic Park (1993)
Itβs funny to think that of all 5 films, this one remains the most timeless. Almost nothing about this film has aged poorly, except maybe the computers and Lex saying she prefers the term βhackerβ over βnerd.β The dinosaurs, by and large, still look fantastic, and realistically as science has become more and more advanced since 1993, the idea of bioengineering has become less βscience fictionβ and more βscience fact.β Oh and, also, this movie is just damn good in general. Itβs still a thrill ride, the music is iconic, Richard Attenborough continues to steal the show. Itβs perfectly paced, with basically no fat. Most people who have seen it could probably explain the basic plotline even years after watching. The cinematography, especially the wide shots of the open hills and plains of the island, are breathtaking. And, above all else, the film makes you feel like itβs real, and thatβs extraordinarily hard for a movie about dinosaurs being brought back to life. I mean, this is probably one of the most parodied films of all time, and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all. All that being said, there are a couple nitpicky issues I feel obliged to point out in case somehow you have gone your entire life without watching Jurassic Park. The child actor who plays Tim is . . . fine. Heβs definitely the weakest link, and itβs hard because so much of the tension of the movie rests on him. Especially when heβs in the backgrounds of some shots. That being said, heβs a kid, you canβt blame him too much. The other issue is, and I may get some people disgruntled for this, the atmosphere feel
... keep reading on reddit β‘I was checking out the reviews for the new Joker film (2019) which has yet to be released. There were so many βhyped to see itβ and βIβm giving it 1 star to counteract until I see itβ reviews. IMDB Has been historically fairly reliable to review ratings (6.4+ usually worth seeing) before watching something minus a couple genres. TV and horror films ratings are rarely reliable but rating a movie you havenβt seen really messes up the accuracy and reliability of the rating system.
TLDR; be ethical. Donβt rate something you havenβt experienced, anywhere really.
Edit: Thanks for the award, friend. I think itβs my first one. Cheers.
Edit 2: Some people asked why I was reading the reviews of an unreleased film. I only looked into the reviews because I saw it was sitting at 9.6/10 with tens of thousands of reviews. My curiosity got piqued.
