The whole scientific miracles in the Qur’an is a load of bullshit. It took over 23 years to compile the Quran and there is literally nothing unique about it except for Muhammad's personal desires and aggressive battles. If Allah had really wanted to wow the world, surely he could have come up with something a little bit more accurate than some random vague passage about sperm originating between the backbone and ribs or that bones are formed before flesh in the womb. Only the deluded and brainwashed still cling to this claim. Muslims do much hoop jumping and hand waiving, interpreting words to mean what they want them to mean to support their claim.

There is literally not a single scientific breakthrough in the Quran, even in the most made-up form! However, what many do is take vague passages, which could be interpreted to mean anything, and then tell uninformed individuals that “Allah” told us about this 1400 years before it was discovered by modern-day scientists, all in this one obscure passage that was interpreted differently for centuries. How did “Allah” tell us anything? Did “Allah” put a scientific publication forward? If “Allah” wanted to show us something even remotely scientific that had not been discovered already, then why not make it a little more extensive than some arbitrary passage that doesn't explain anything. Scientific breakthroughs are fact-based, they provide actual detail, not a couple of ill-defined blurry sentences that could mean anything and were previously interpreted to mean something different.

I have to email a secretary of an academic lab regarding some account issues. I have never met them , and googling them does not reveal much about them. How do I address the person in my mail?

Hi Reddit Folks!

I've come across some scenarios where i've had not so great tenant communication and rent payment for a unit as well as tenants giving me heads up they are out town for whatever reason.

There has been times i've known ahead of time their "friends" are coming in to check on their unit whether it be for plants, animals, or general checks. Typically, if i do see a stranger on the property, I am polite and say hello and see if they are lost or trying to find an apartment unit but i'm ultimately trying to identify if they are a friend or some snooper.

I've come across a scenario where a problem tenant was out of town where i'm discussing late rent payments via phone and email. A person comes to check on their apartment and DOES have a key but would not identify who they were. I politely asked that since he/she is unable to identify who they are, why they have a key, or provide any details of the tenant then i would have to assume they are breaking in and have to all the police. After a few minutes, they somewhat cracked and provided some details about the tenant and we exchanged numbers.

My question would be is what is appropriate or what safety tips to protect my property in general, protect myself legally if this person breaks in and i'm seen doing nothing about it (though i could probably say i had no idea and there was no forced entry), or any other random scenario that could come up.

In my current story I have 2 MC's going on a long journey to return home, the perspective will change every chapter between them. With 2 characters I had thought that it might be a good idea to write their journey through their eyes, but at the same time it might seem like I'm directly telling too many emotions or experiences. Should I stick with Good ol' third person or try out first?

With the amount of information I remember I thought I’d be able to Google this without issue but going through the history of Histrionic personality disorder, which I believe is what she was alleged to have, I can’t find anything.

This will be probably 1870s-1900s, not directly linked to Freud and I believe the institution she was kept in and eventually escaped from was in Canada but quite possibly the US.

I saw him first when I was visiting my grandmom. I stopped at 'Dodi', a very famous restaurant on the Indore-Bhopal Highway. I ordered an iced tea for myself and with some poha. Since it was self-service, I went to collect my order, exhausted from the strong heat, and almost ready to pass out when I noticed him. He was standing there... Just standing. Not blinking, not breathing but just standing as still a mannequin and it seemed that no one else noticed him. Then I noticed his clothes. They were of a colour that I had never seen in my life. A greasy and shabby colour that stood out so much that everyone should have reacted on seeing it. But no one bat an eye on him. It was as if he was invisible to everyone around me. At first I tried to ignore him and be on my way, but still, I sensed as if something was wrong. I thought he wanted money and was a beggar, so I went to him to give him some rupees. As soon as I got near him, he gave a stare, a stare which I have never seen. The creepiness level suddenly increased and I just handed him the 10 rupees note and went on my way to the bus to continue the journey. As I turned to see if he was still there, his reaction was something which has been inscribed deep into my brain and I don't think I will ever be able to forget it.

He smiled. That's it. He smiled. And that smile was not normal. Oh no... It was something more sinister or even disgusting. His perfectly white teeth stood out from the rest of his body. Those teeth were as white as snow. As I got into the bus and was getting comfortable on my seat, ready to listen to some Imagine Dragons, I looked out once again, just to see him one last time. But he was gone. I sighed and laughed at myself for worrying about someone who I would probably never see in my life again. But I was so wrong.

As the journey continued, I forgot about him and was just looking out the window, pretending to be a part of the song I was listening to. The weather was also getting pleasant and cool which made me more sleepy. Just as I was about to close my eyes, my phone buzzed and showed a message from an unknown number. A number which I don't think belonged to India.

The message read :

"Send me a Selfie :)".

I smiled, guessing that it was probably my girl-friend messing with me. She had moved to the USA for further studies and was planning to get a new number, so I guessed it was probably her. I ignored that message and continued pretending my loneliness.

In Portuguese, when we use the word Sir or Ma’am (Senhor or Senhora) we conjugate the verbs as if they were the third person of singular*.
Something similar happens in Italian, with He and She (Lui and Lei) being used instead of You when talking to someone you don’t know, and also in German with Sie (Third Person Plural)
