I'm an artist studying anatomy and this is just a question I have out of sheer curiosity. I just found out that not everyone has a palmaris longus muscle in their forearm. However, my anatomy books say that the muscle essentially turns into the palmar aponeurosis in your hand. Does that mean that if you don't have a palmaris longus muscle, that you also don't have the palmar aponeurosis? Or do you still have the palmar aponeurosis and it just connects at other points? I tried doing some googling but couldn't find any answers.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
