A list of puns related to "Overseas Adventure Travel"
I feel like a lot of international travel gives people an illusion that youre rich, mainly because it is thought to cost a lot, and it used to cost a lot. Even a few decades ago, a rt ticket to Europe wouldve costed $2000 in todays dollars. International travel was only accesible to the ultra rich, and even upper middle class folks would only be able to afford it on a once in a lifetime occasion.
In fact, only 10% of the US has been to 10 or more countries, and 2% have been to 30 or more, and most people in those groups are very close to the respective income percentiles.
Looking for a film where a young couple travels overseas and strange things occur. Ideally not looking for anything paranormal or spirit related. Thrillers, dramas or mysteries. It could be in an urban, countryside, or other setting.
When do you think we will know for sure that it's safe to travel?
I have elderly parents, I really cannot afford to be stuck somewhere else for a couple of years. I mean, financially, Im not sure how anyone even did it, can you work while trapped abroad?
I have the worst housemate and Iβm so done with this bs. I have a place overseas that I can stay at with trusted friends
The second they announce it Iβm buying a ticket that week and leaving. I have little attachment here
I'm thinking into taking my miner back to my home country where I can set it up with a much cheaper electricity and no noise issues. But since I dont want to risk it to be handed as baggage or stolen in the airport, I was wondering if it is legal/possible to take it as carry on.
(Note: mining is not banned either in port of origin or arrival)
Anyone has any experience doing this? Thanks for your answers!
Hi everyone, Later this year my girlfriend (20) and I (21) will be traveling to Peru and Mexico for about 3 weeks total. I used my Chase Sapphire card to buy both of our plane tickets, car rental and other activities. After reading through the terms and conditions it seems that Chase covers most things EXCEPT for medical treatment and a flight to return home.
Is there anything else that I'm missing that chase doesn't cover and you recommend I buy insurance coverage for?
What medical insurance coverage do you recommend I obtain?
EDIT: I meant Chase Sapphire Preferred card
Two weeks ago I asked if people were travelling overseas and some were but have heard there's been heaps of cancellations from people. Still hoping to get to Europe but looking less likely now!
Personally, it would be the prices and quality of the public transportation
My partner and I were hoping to travel overseas this year but very unsure of what it is like and if itβs even possible/sensible in the coming months when departing from Australia. I know things are changing quickly, so itβs hard for anyone to give a definitive answer, but Iβm interested to hear of anyoneβs recent experiences/pros and cons and/or thoughts on this topic. TIA
As someone from a developing country, this baffles me a lot. I've seen tourists, mostly white around their 20s to 40s, in our country vacationing for a several weeks. Do you guys just resign from your job and say fuck it I wanna travel? Aren't you afraid to lose your career and not find a job again? Or if not, do your bosses allow you to take a long time off?
Hi, I hope someone can help me or give some advice for my situation.
I adopted a rescue 6 months ago after a lot of careful thought and consideration. I was working full time from home, had no plans to change my lifestyle or anything like that. She is a great wee girl, took some time to decompress after she arrived but now she is a happy, friendly and well trained dog.
Just last week, I was offered my dream job. Completely unexpected, I'm not even qualified for the position but my company are taking a chance on me after working in another department for years. However, the job is in Norway, and I currently live in Scotland. I'm required to be in Norway 10days, then back home for 4 days, Norway 10 days, home 4 days etc etc. There will be periods where I need to be there for over 10 days.
Obviously, I do not want to leave my dog. But I don't think there is any other option other than rehoming? I could pay for kennels during times I am away but I don't think this would be very fair on her, being moved in and out of kennels? I don't think I could take her with me either. I really don't want to give her up but I also don't want to make her life rubbish.
Can anyone give me any ideas, what should I do?
Thank you x
Does anyone know if, a foreigner with a job here in Vietnam, can leave to fly back to my country and return within a week? I am double vaccinated.
Has any foreigner left Vietnam and returned without much hassle?
The current laws on overseas travel are still very ambiguous.
I know this is stupid, but I seriously need to know why I can't use a cool-ass submarine to travel across the ocean, in comparison to a dinky metal bird.
Got a bit of an odd one.
Hopefully, all going well, fingers crossed, we've got plans to travel overseas towards the end of this year.
We've got plenty of cash saved up to pay for things (given the original plan was to travel in 2020, and then when that didn't happen, 2021 - and neither happened), and I'll need to spend about $10k NZ to buy the currency we need (via a Wise multi-currency account/card).
My question is : Given the volatility of the dollar at the moment, am I likely to be better transferring and buying the currency in batches on a dollar cost average basis between now and when we travel, rather than just converting it 'on demand' when we're already overseas?
Where it gets complicated is we have an offset mortgage currently running at 4.75%, so every dollar we transfer out of our accounts 'costs' us 4.75% for the duration in question. I understand that buying in chunks over the timeframe is 'all things being equal' just a coin toss based on whether the currency is up or down when we travel vs the DCA average.
But am I right in suspecting that the offset account means I'm better off just holding onto the cash, as the currency would have to drop 4.75% (as a percentage of what is now, not 45 basis points) by when we travel to justify what DCAing the buys, and so therefore mathematically we're more likely better off just to wait?
Sorry if none of that makes sense :)
Anybody know what Sleep Cycle recommends (or maybe something you've experienced) with traveling between time zones? Traveling to London in a few weeks so it will be a decent time change from West Coast in US (8 hours or so). Not sure what the best tactic is. Let me know if you have any tips for Sleep Cycle and time zones, thanks!
