losing track of the amount of times I've almost been hit.
I have know this lady all my life. She was born in the church. She didn't pursue a career and worked in the church her whole life. Lots of callings, lots of service, decades of doing what the church asked. She recently had an accident and is now in assisted living. She has little money. The people in her ward have been very kind. But I can't get over the GAs sitting on their pile of $124 Billion, while she struggles in her last days to keep her situation. The government has come to help her financially, but not a word, not a dime, not a visit from the this organization she gave her life to.
The church is all about itself. There is no other organization I can think of that will take so freely without feeling any compulsion to reciprocate. There is no organization that assumes they 'own' a person, their time, resources, life, without any obligation to do anything in return.
If any of the GAs read this "FUCK YOU" and your hoarding selfishness.
This happened quite some time ago, so it's more of a summarised recollection rather than a word for word conversation.
OP: Me (~7 y/o at the time) EB: Entitled Brother (~9 y/o at the time)
Backstory: I grew up in Asia where the culture has always favoured the firstborn, even more so when it's a firstborn son. As such, EB could do no wrong in the eyes of my mother who spoilt him rotten.
It was EB's birthday and he got a lot of presents from our extended family. One of the cooler toys he got was a remote controlled car which at that point in time were pretty novel and expensive. I asked to play with it and EB said no because I'm a girl and girls don't play with cars. I left it at that since after all, it was his birthday present after all and if he didn't want to share it, then that's up to him.
Fast forward a couple of months, it was my cousin's birthday. EB and I were really close to my cousin since we're the only ones in our family that lives close to each other that's about the same age. His mum got him a remote controlled car too since he's been asking for one after watching my brother play with his all this while. Thing is, my aunt decided to get me one too since she knew I liked it and my brother didn't let me play with his.
Here comes the kicker. As soon as we got home, EB started whining about how he wants mine because it's newer and his isn't as cool anymore etc etc. I straight up told him no because it's mine, and he already has his so we should just play with our own toys.
Next thing I knew, EB smashed his against the wall. Obviously I was surprised but his response was simply, "now I don't have one, so you have to give it to me".
Unfortunately my mum agreed with the apple of her eye, and I was made to give EB the car and not make a fuss over it.
Tldr: EB wouldn't share his toy. When Aunt gave me a newer toy, he smashed his so that I had to give him mine.
Over the past week, I've nearly hit a cyclist four different times while driving up Kentucky. No reflective clothing and no lamps. Please be careful out there.
But the odd ones are just strange.
More here to rant.
I've been attempting to communicate with some parents the entire school year. I have sent emails, notes home, called home, etc. I have left voicemails asking for a return call... received nothing back.
According to my administrator, none of this communication counts because I haven't gotten a hold of anyone. Which I understand, but I dont understand how my admin can then say I'm not trying hard enough. This parents can't even pick up their puking child..
It really makes me feel bad for the kids, but it should NOT be coming back on me.
only calling when they need, but then you realise, they were never really true friends. Then, thereβs that rare person you meet, who in a short time, becomes more of a friend to you than someone you thought you knew for a while..
He said "sir,do you realise this is a one way street?"
I said "but officer, I was only going one way."
