A list of puns related to "On the Malice of Herodotus"
Have there been scientifically proven refutations of any of his descriptions?
... So it is with men. If they give themselves constantly to serious work, and never indulge awhile in pastime or sport, they lose their senses and become mad."Β - Herodotus
Hello fellow Smite folks.
I'm here to get some backing on a proposed changed to the iteration of Malice that will be entering PTS next week.
The idea that was exposed during the patch note discussion was a passive that states "Critical hits will remove 2 seconds from your non-ultimate abilities' CD (only if they're on CD of course)." with an internal CD of 5 seconds. I'm here to say that this will literally put this item out of existence in Smite. That passive literally benefits no class or specific god enough to be useful or even to be a niche item.
So all I'm proposing is that the passive remain the same, but the ICD to be reduced to 3 seconds. This would make this item a go to on Crit hunters, Serqet, and maybe a few others. Rama specifically has an 11 sec cd on his roll, with this item with perfect crit rng, it only would be 5 seconds off his 11 second timer. That's essentially 45% CDR in a PERFECT (see unlikely) scenario. Again, this item only effects non- Ultimate abilities.
I'd like for the folks at Titanforge to really look at these numbers and take it into consideration, because as it stands you might as well remove Malice from the game or put a stamp on people's foreheads who use it that says "not trying to do the best I can".
Thank you,
Iβm especially interested in any Persian (or non-Greek generally), or archeological support.
Thanks!
Itβs really not a pretty picture. He says that fathers often sell their daughters into prostitution and that the Babylonians have a custom where they must copulate in a temple with a man before they can leave the temple. Frankly it sounds like slander to me.
How much of that is true? I know Herodotus has a reputation for mixing stories and myths with his histories.
Small Rant: The last two months have been crazy for me. Between being an occasional care giver and my 2.25 jobs, I've only been able to do one of the trials.
I think it would be really nice if we get the two trials available on permanent basis. In particular when it is this hard with this much of RNG.
Thanks.
Coming back to d2 I expected to see a touch of malice be one of the quests that we get almost immediately. But contrary to this, we never see it. And after years we still haven't. With the advent of shadow keep it seemed almost necessary for us to see it again. Savathun was on her way to sol, the taken in the dreaming city, along with other taken and hive movements in sol pointed to some new chapter in the hive. While I'm glad to finally see the shape of the darkness, It is mind-boggling as to why we haven't seen the touch of malice.
In D1 we construct the touch of malice using oryx, the Blade of Famine, the Shroud of Ir AnΓ»k and the Ravenous Heart. This weapon was supposed to be an extension of Oryx's influence. Two things occurred with this weapon. One, we were using it as a trophy of oryx, that we were essentially his champion. He believed that whoever slew a being as mighty as he would no doubt have a place in the final shape of the deep and that the wielder of this weapon would carry a piece of him to it. If you think about it, he's correct. We've always infested the weakness of our foes (Ghaul, Xul, and Nokris for instance) and crushed those who couldn't stand before us in the moment of their error. Nevertheless, the second part of this weapon is a reference to the books of sorrow when Auryx resurrected Xivu Arath through war and Savathun through trickery. Us wielding the Touch of Malice and exploring the stars, crushing foes, and learning new secrets all while having a memento of our regicide is oryx saving throw. He believes that by us wielding his weapon, and navigating existence, he may be resurrected through navigation, as was his title. The fact that a weapon this paramount to the story would simply vanish is astounding.
This may have been a game design decision as opposed to a lore decision. Mida Multi-tool, Hard Light, Suros, etc, were all fan favorites, while the touch of malice wasn't as present in the community. I think what should happen is the rediscovery of the weapon. Maybe a name and perk change (as the original gun wouldn't fit in d2's new environment) but without a doubt a new quest. There are plenty of items that already exist for us to fetch to forge a new touch of malice. This gun was a plot point that I believe is indispensable, and I would like to hear what you guys have to think about the subject.
Do you think we will see it again? If we do what changes would they make to it as a gun? What would this quest look like, and wh
... keep reading on reddit β‘This hit me profoundly. If that is all you need for great harm, and thereβs also malice, this explains why Iβve had a difficult time.
Based on video game logic, I see a lot of foreshadowing. Plus, during the D2 beta, there were datamined voice lines, one saying "What if Oryx isn't dead?". I believe he'll return, maybe in Year 3 or D3.
