We are aware that the representative jersey is the honor and ambition of every football player from the earliest age. The representative jersey was prepared with great joy at the request of the football players. The team was looking for new representative jerseys. We wanted to fulfill that request.
Unfortunately, the technical support in terms of the color of the jersey is not in line with the requirements of FFM. Federation and FFM services fully assume responsibility for this choice, but will also demand responsibility from the technical partner.
As president of the federation I take my responsibility for any consequences and announce that at the European Championship we will play with the past jerseys. What I did not influence and trust in the work of FFM services in the creation of the new jersey does not mean that we should remain silent when the wider public expresses their opinion. I insist that the European Championship performance be remembered for the wonderful success we have made and not be overshadowed by things that are easier to solve.
Due to the reactions from the color of the jersey, we as the Football Federation of Macedonia sent a letter to UEFA asking for the European Championship matches with the current jerseys. I hope UEFA will have an understanding of our request and will meet the same.
With the current representative jersey we played at the European Championship 2017, with that jersey we achieved a historic EURO 2020 placement and with that jersey we will present ourselves at the championship we are looking forward to.
