A list of puns related to "Ngunnawal"
Just wondering if anyone knows where the damaged pipe is haha
I've looked everywhere online to see if any official translation (or even just a widely used one) for these terms exist in the language, but can't find anything.
Sadly, being an extinct language, there doesn't appear to be an official dictionary that I can find beyond basic vocabulary lists. and as the Australian Capital Territory is a new term, historically speaking, it's a term that I imagine would have to be created or at least agreed on.
But I'm hoping someone out there knows something I may have missed.
NPG has just closed for the day, and there are some road closures nearby.

Saw a headline a bit earlier from the Cbr Times that the Police want to evict the sovcits from the Parliamentary Triangle ahead of a plan from the sovcits to have another crack at Parliament House tomorrow (not sure if they targeting old, new, or both).

EDIT (via Canberra Weekly) and more now from The Guardian:
>Police have begun an operation to clear a protest camp near Old Parliament House in Canberra.
>
>The operation on Friday followed a request from the National Capital Authority to βremove structures and vehicles that are on Commonwealth land without a permitβ.
>
>ACT police used a loudspeaker to announce all tents, caravans, vehicles and other camping equipment must be removed from the area by 4pm AEDT or police would remove it.
>
>They said camping within the parliamentary triangle without a permit constituted a breach of Commonwealth law.

>One protester yelled: βShame on you.β
>
>It followed a court hearing for two men charged over a December 30 protest which saw the doors of the now-museum set on fire.
>
>Protesters from the βMuckuddaβ Canberra protest camp on Thursday sought to enter Parliament House but were prevented by police, with a number of people arrested in the forecourt.

>Some of Canberra's Aboriginal elders say they were not consulted about an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural precinct to be built in the Parliamentary Triangle, and have raised concerns about the inclusion of a national resting place.
>
>The Ngurra precinct, announced on Wednesday morning, will be built based on a proposal from the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS).
>
>The $316.5 million precinct will include a learning centre, a national resting place to care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestral remains and a new base for AIATSIS, which is currently located adjacent to the National Museum of Australia on Acton Peninsula.
>
>Speaking at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Ngambri, Ngunnawal elder Dr Matilda House-Williams said the plans from AIATSIS did not represent the traditional custodians of the land, and the government had spoken to the wrong people.
>
>"The respectful and honorable way to go about doing this [is that] Mr Morrison needs to talk to proper elders," Dr House-Williams said.
>
>Dr House-William's son and Ngambri traditional owner, Paul House, also called a press release announcing the precinct "offensive" because it did not recognise the Ngambri people.
>
>"The announcement appears to exclude the Ngambri people and the the acknowledgement of the Ngambri people and country here in the Parliamentary Triangle," he said.
>
> "That doesn't work, that doesn't work for us: that's offensive, and excludes and continues that dispossession and intergenerational trauma."

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I purchased a house in Canberra mid year, and have been a keen observer of house sale prices since, though I've pretty much stopped attending auctions.
I went to one today and he turnout for a (roughly) $1.2 million house was woeful. One bid before the place was passed in.
How is your experience with the Canberra auction market at the moment?
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
