A list of puns related to "Neo Medieval music"
A few delightful German artists in this category that I've listened to include Corvus Corax, Tanzwut, and Subway to Sally (much of their work is more metal, with hints of medieval folk music) - artists who combine medieval influences with more modern styles.
Is there a distinctive scene for this type of music in Germany, or is it more of a very small, niche genre that an equally small number of people listen to/appreciate? Would Germans typically have heard of these artists outside of the alternative music scenes they are part of or close to?
I figure since we're all here to support a game based in the 15th century, there might be a few people here who like to listen to music inspired by this time period. The music in KCD is all composed by Adam Sporka and Jan Valta, but the general vibe reminds me a lot of the "neo-Medieval" genre that I'm a huge fan of, and of which I've made a Spotify playlist I've been curating for a few years: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6XnvlzJRDketk2TRhvqZGr?si=q41vbll5SyiMXW8czxTbqA. Anyone else into this kind of stuff outside the context of KCD?
About a year ago I posted my YouTube playlist and Iβve finished transferring it to a Spotify playlist . There should be around 20 hours of music here so I hope yβall enjoy!
The playlist can be found here. I hope you enjoy this and if you have any suggestions as to what I should add please feel free to leave them.
Edit: link now works
Im looking for a modern take on medieval art were the aesthetic is the same but looks like it was done a professional artist and not someone who seems to have been kicked by a mule and can no longer move there arms correctly. Can anyone recommend an artist who does this?
Today Dr. Ludwig uploaded the song "Freikorps voran". A song about the far right Freikorps who fought against communists and democracy in the 1920s in Germany.
None of that is a problem when it happens in the historical context, but the song is not really from the time of the Freikorps. A commenter pointed this out in the comments below the video: " The song is actually from 1995. It's not a real or historical Freikorps song. The melody was made by JΓΆrg HΓ€hnel (a German right wing extremist) and the text was written by Hans Casanova (This sounds like a pseudonym). One source says the was written by the famous Hans Carossa. But there are no proofs for this assumption."
Dr. Ludwig definitely knows that the song comes from JΓΆrg HΓ€hnel. Below in is the evidence as he deleted the comment quoted above.
JΓΆrg HΓ€hnel is actually a German Neo-Nazi who makes music like "Freikorps voran" or other political songs.
I went on Discogs and there you can find his album "Da heiΓt es stehn ganz unverzagt". The song is called "Die Grenze brennt" (Track No. 5) there. So it's really a song from HΓ€hnel. The commenter said the recording Dr. Ludwig used in his video is identical to that on the album.
I don't know if YouTube deletes his video again, but it wouldn't be a big suprise. By the way the song is very popular in this rightist music scene on YouTube. For example Karl Sternau made a cover version of the song and he also writes absolutely nothing about it's origin. Dr. Ludwig and Karl Sternau also cooperate with each other and they also have met once.
Addendum: Dr. Ludwig deleted the comment that asked about the origin of the song and the comment that explained that it was a song by JΓΆrg HΓ€hnel (quoted above) I also have proof that he read it because he responded to it! Then he realized that he could no longer justify it and and the excuse that he didn't know about anything no longer worked. So he decided to delete the comments to cover it up! However, he was very clumsy here.

Some of my favorite groups include OMNIA, Qntal, Faun, Garmarna, Corvus Corax, The Moon & The Nightspirit, BordΓ³ SΓ‘rkΓ‘ny. I love old instrumentation with modern production. I would love to add some Danish songs to my collection!
ETA: Y'all did not disappoint! Thank you. My Spotify list is blowing up. I can barely keep up!

More here:
When I listen to Kateβs music (especially her 80s releases) I feel very magical and medieval. I find that it is a difficult experiential sensation to describe but I often liken the imagery to a Legend of Zelda video game or some adventurous natural setting with fantasized elements. It is a very distinctive feeling that I only get from this particular artist.
I wondered for a while, what Derogatory terms with the various religions have for each other? Like orientalists And presumably other Muslim groups call the rust cults idol worshipers, So what might the other groups think of each other?
It's what the title says. I'm gonna dm a ball and I want to put some cool songs to create an atmosphere when we play.
Was hovering on those headphones for a while since i want an upgrade from a 15$ pair of on-ear headphones from panasonic, i listen very often to any EDM title and its variants so i have a couple of questions to ask here if someone here can answer them:
-Are better the 770 Pro 80 ohms due to its studio oriented sound in terms of Equalization?
-The impedance difference can be a thing in audio quality if my music source is a smartphone (with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter with DAC integrated)/laptop?
One or another will be my first quality headphones for my first time ever so i want to start good doing a good choice if you can guide me please
I was on a deep dive after listening to all the "Saga of Evil" songs probably around 2012. I loved the concept so I started looking for a collection of songs following a story. After like 2 hours of related video bar clicks I ended up in this one video.
The story was of some knights in which they ended up inside a cave where it was probably a dragon lair. I think the main singer was meiko but all the mains where featured in the video. The art style looked very detailed and semi realistic with colors slightly muted but still 2d.
When I watched it it said it was the first one of a collection, but when I checked the upload date it was only a few days old.
I only saw the video once so I might be wrong and meshing all the videos in that 2 hour dive.
I know neo noir can pretty much be adapted into all genres and mediums now, not just crime. Iβve seen it in Syfy, Westerns, futuristic stuff. Just wondering who all here might have read something similar in medieval fantasy.. and I guess you can say fantasy has its own and itβs called grim dark which I can agree but I was hoping to read something more focused on a mystery/crime set during those times. It actually doesnβt even really have be fantasy per se. Set in ancient history, involving a knight or knights, kings and queens and centered around a dark mystery
