Is there any other "ego psychologists" out there other than Anne Freud? Wouldn't Erikson the real ego psychologist? He accepted Sigmund Freud's theories but took development throughout adolescence and adulthood.

Irina is an strange choice for a married man who wants to retain his domestic status quo. She's unusually young, for a mistress, and is unsophisticated, dramatic, and emotionally volatile. The generational age-gap between her and Tony, even more than her mangled English, makes her poor company: "For all the conversation I get around here I might as well be a dildo." She has an unusual bone structure, big eyes and plump cheeks with a tiny chin, like a child. She has dark hair and eyes, is skinny like an adolescent and dresses immaturely, even for Tony's taste. On the boat she puts on a child's inflatable swim-bands, having presumably gone to the trouble of blowing them up herself, while her duck-feeding emphasises her childishness. A minute later Tony curtails their tryst, dragging her by the arm along the dock like a Walmart mom with an unruly child. When the show opens, Meadow has just begun to sneak around with boys: "It's Patrick's swim meet tomorrow, and he needed me!" In College, she makes Tony uncomfortable by referencing availability of men as a factor in her choice of colleges, before confessing to dabbling with 'speed'. She's plainly growing up fast, and Tony's dissatisfaction with Irina begins to simmer at this point. Later in the timeline, on the way over to Zellman's - with Meadow on the cusp of the wider world now - Tony weeps over the Chi-lites: oh girl, I'd be in trouble if you left me now ... When Tony whips Zellman he's half naked. The other time we saw Zellman with his shirt off was in the shvitz, when the contrast with Maurice emphasised his diminutive stature. Combined with his chubbiness, Zellman has the body of a toddler - little chest, round belly - and, as we see emphasised in close-up, he styles his hair into a Kewpie-doll 'kiss-curl'. Tony punishes little-boy Zellman like a brutal father - with his belt. He doesn't grab something to hand and use it creatively, as with so many Sopranos beatings: Mikey Palmice's stapler, Valery's lamp, the dustbuster, the clipboard and picture-glass broken over JT's head. Instead, he takes off his belt, like the Dad from 1954 he claims himself to be. I'm sure we'd probably all like to think of ourselves as open-minded and able to plot out well balanced season ideas. But if I'm being totally honest with myself, most of my tastes aren't on the same wavelength as most of the DB fanbase. In fact they may well feel downright alienating to most fans. In what areas are you like that? For me it'd be...

Anime:

I only ever really got into a handful of anime growing up, and I just don't have as much free time as I used to. So I can't really binge on 300+ episode juggernauts anymore. I got into stuff like Dragon Ball (I mean who didn't?), Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade, Code Geass, Death Note, Attack on Titan, Higurashi, and One Punch Man. So I never really hopped aboard the HST train or stuff like MHA, Jojo, and Hunter x Hunter. At best I'm a skim viewer of Naruto and Bleach, having watched clips of iconic moments from the shows on YouTube.

Not that I flat out dislike them, and there are some ideas I'm totally onboard with (far more hyped for Madara vs Aizen than I am for what is probably Galactus vs Unicron). But when it comes to stuff involving the various Sea Warlords or Squad Captains and all that I just go "Um, yeah I guess". I am slowly starting to come more round to stuff like Berserk this past year, since I dig the dark Medieval fantasy setting, and I would love to see Guts come back (or one of the other cast members). And I've developed a slight interest in Kill La Kill thanks to Shadow vs Ryuko. But for most of the stuff that's mainstream right now I'm out of the loop.

Though one way to invest me in an anime matchup for something I don't know well is to pit them against a character or property I am interested or at least familiar with. So while I couldn't really care much for Crocodile vs whoever, I'm down for Motoko Kusanagi vs Adam Jensen, Kirito vs Neo, or Lucy Heartfilia vs Yuna.

Comics:

This is a weird contrast with anime episodes, as I'm a major DC and Marvel fan. And if you'd asked me a few years back, I'd have leapt on the opportunity for more of them over episodes featuring characters from a lot of other series. But now...it's kind of like watching someone you know suffering from an addiction problem, and you realize it's time to slow the hell down.

I really don't think we need any more than a maximum of four truly worthwhile Big Two episodes per season. Or even see anything wrong with letting them take a year off. Plenty of other franchises haven't been seen in years, so I see no reason why the

The incel movement is also tied to the most fascist right-wing factions and are among the most prominent and vocal groups who support Donald Trump. Over the past few years, the incels have been “organizing across online networks, blaming their exile from sexual relations on everything from feminism and sexual liberation to genetics and natural laws of attractions. “(Chase Anspach 2020 p.3). The rise of this particular social movement is still relatively new, and we have little in the way of statistics that allows us to better parse the demographic elements of the movement. The ideological components also vary, ranging from dialogue and behaviors that promote radical violence against women and minorities, to that of providing an online space in which men can ‘vent’ about their frustrations with romantic relationships. The overriding narrative found in online forums, however, is that of a moral justification of the “compulsory sexuality on women” (Chase Anspach 2020 p.1) This paper will attempt to interpret this narrative and its adjacent factors from a Freudian perspective. To do this comprehensively and responsibly, we cannot ignore economic conditions linked to present day capitalist dynamics. Therefore, this paper will also contain supplemental interpretive moments from a Marxist perspective.
