Distal humerus fracture. Top pictures at the day of fracture. Bottom made today after 6 weeks. I visited 4 different hospitals and every one denied surgery. They say they are afraid to injure radical nerve, so in the end it's treated non operatively in plaster cast. What do you think?
One of my rescue guinea pigs (I run Alittlebitiffy Animal Sanctuary) has bilateral shoulder luxation with remodeling of the humeral head, bilateral osteopaenia of the proximal humerus, and mild scoliosis.
[3cb] BI’s shoulder issue (pain w/ going overhead) sounds like impingement issue d/t the description & his profile (active male in overhead sport). When you go overhead, head of the humerus (upper arm bone) rolls into the shoulder socket & can pinch/irritate things. Quite common, nbd.

TIL a broken humerus of a giant fossil sea turtle was found in New Jersey in 1849. In 2012, another broken humerus was discovered, which was found out to be the other half of the exact same bone found 163 years prior.

Healing a broken shaft fracture in the humerus
I broke my humerus right in the middle a month ago. I was wondering if there are any dos and donts for healing it? Also are there any exercises I could be doing?
Is the funny bone called funny bone because the nerve is on the humerus (humourous) or is it just because its funny when someone hits it.
Broke my humerus back in May, the difference between my arms after being in a cast for 2 months.
Do we call it the “funny bone” because it’s called the humerus or because it makes you laugh when you hit it?

Edit: when I say laugh I don’t mean hysterically I just mean when you get that odd feeling you kinda do an awkward laugh because of the feeling, and I’ve noticed this when I’ve witnessed other people do it too

Main character has nothing left to do this week (7/12M 472ilvl Warrior, 80 neck etc) and I have a spare couple of hours. Thought it would be fun to check out my old druid alt for a bit....until I looked up the recommended essences. Why is it such a big commitment?
Being a mythic CE raider, one of my favourite things to do would be to drop on to an alt for an hour or so to chill out, do a key or two or pop into a raid for fun times and maybe get some new gear. I know how to play the character, but I feel like I just can't commit the time to even remotely start to get it to a place where it would be relevant. At this stage I wouldn't even be brought to alt raids in my guild until sinking at least a good 10-15 hours to attempt the essence grind (not even mentioning the corruption chance on gear).
Saying this and knowing what I went through on my main, I can't even imagine what it feels like to be a new player hitting 120. The big grind used to be the levelling in my opinion, but honestly that now feels like the tip of the iceberg when it comes to character progression. I don't have a chance in hell to get this character up to speed.
What's the decision behind this? I feel like I'm just hemmed in to one character which I now have nothing to do aside from committing my time to dailies for the visions. Is the game killing itself? Is there a big ceiling hanging over players who just want to enjoy the game but are now just completely stuck for things to do aside from the only option to commit so much time in an alt to get anywhere near good enough to enjoy current content?
Never ranted about anything like this before, but now I just feel sad about a game that was fantastic in previous years and kept me coming back. I can't begin to think why Blizzard make these decisions, almost as a punishment to people who want to try different things in the game.
Wondering if anyone feels the same way?
