A list of puns related to "National Clothespin Factory"
Online.
I once had an old timer tell me that if my truck ever wont start after it sat through a good rain, that it is probably some condensation inside the carburetor and the fuel line going into it.
His fix?
"Put some clothespins on the fuel line and leave them. Come back the next day and it will start. Leave the pins on and youll never have the issue again. I dont know why it works but it does"
Sure enough, one day after a night of heavy rain, truck doesnt start. I followed the advice, and next day it roared awake no problems.
Can anyone explain WHY this works? I have been racking my brain about it but cant figure it out to save my life.
Aristotle says that the family is the heart of the nation. If people aren't having families, then it's not a nation, it's a factory. Rather than families being organically created, and organising as a community, instead what you have are dying people being replaced by new imported people, there is no family creation. The cycle repeats itself. It's quite literally outsourcing people.
So I haven't actually met my newish neighbors and honestly, with the pandemic I've only even caught sight of them like twice. What I do see is their clothes laid out on the ground in their backyard. I don't mind it at all (we don't live in the nicest neighborhood so it's not like it's an eyesore and it's their backyard; they can obviously do whatever they like) but I just honestly don't get it. My bf has seen them around the neighborhood more than I have and said they're immigrants or refugees from somewhere in Africa which may explain the kinda atypical drying choice. Honestly, I just want to buy them some clothespins and a dryer line and leave it at their front door, that way if they don't want it, they can just toss it. But the whole thing makes me wonder if I'm an asshole. Like do I have some unconscious nationalistic ideas that make me believe an immigrant couldn't just buy their own dryer line if they wanted to? Maybe they have some reason I don't know about for doing it the way they do. It just seems odd to wash clothes and then immediately lay them all out in the dirt and grass. And what if they were offended or embarrassed to wake up one day and find this stuff at their front door? But then there's also the chance they could be like "nice, I've been meaning to get one of these!" Maybe I could leave it with a note introducing myself and belatedly welcoming them to the neighborhood. Thoughts?
