A list of puns related to "Na Hae ryung"
I'm a newbie to kdrama but I watched both Mystic Pop-up Bar and Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung and loved both. I like happy endings (or at least overall positive). I prefer fantasy (or urban fantasy), or historical dramas. What else should I try out?
I just finished watching this series and had to recommend it. I won't give out any spoilers but if you are looking for any or all of the following, you will definitely love this drama
Strong plot and well written screenplay
Strong female characters and an admirable FL
Sweet romance without the melodrama
Historical drama that doesn't feel dated
If you have watched it already and can recommend something similar, pl mention in the comments. I would love watching them.
Since Iβm stressed at school and work, is this drama light and comedic?
Accordingly, dozed off a lot of times watching Run On partly because of Shin Se Kyung, is she any better here? Howβs the plot, as well as Eun Woo?
I have 3 days before my busy schedule restarts so I want to complete one of these dramas before that.
Which one is the perfect mix of romance, comedy, friendships ( if any ), politics ( very minimum ) and preferably good OST. Do anyone of these have a second couple?

I really liked the thought and how the drama was written. I liked the prolonged mysteries that had me thinking throughout the whole series.
However, I do believe the execution fell short. That's why I can't bring myself to absolutely 'love' the drama. I really liked Cha Eun Woo in My ID is Gangnam Beauty, because his acting was very fit for the role. But as for Prince Dowon in Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, he fell a bit flat for me, and he didn't quite fully express Prince Dowon's personality, in ny opinion. No hate, Cha Eun Woo was very pretty to look at. But I think he lacked the execution part specially in the first few episodes. I did see him slowly improve, and at some episodes found his acting very nice.
Any thoughts?
ASTROβs Cha Eun Woo has chosen his next drama!
On March 4, Fantagio Entertainment announced that Cha Eun Woo has confirmed his appearance in MBCβs upcoming drama βRookie Historian Goo Hae Ryungβ (literal title).
βRookie Historian Goo Hae Ryungβ is a fictional historical drama that tells the story of women in the 19th century who were frowned upon for writing historical records. The drama will fight against outdated prejudice on the basis of gender and social status and show the value of change. It was previously confirmed that Shin Se Kyung will take on the female lead role in the drama.
In the drama, Cha Eun Woo will take on the role of Prince Yi Rim. While second in line to the throne, the prince lives a double life as a lonely prince who has never dated anyone and a popular romance novelist who has the city of Hanyang in the palm of his hands. While juggling both worlds, he meets the intern historian Goo Hae Ryung (played by Shin Se Kyung) and learns of love and the world outside the palace.
With the upcoming drama, Cha Eun Woo will be taking on his first-ever lead role in a major networkβs drama. Through his agency, Cha Eun Woo said, βThe script was very intriguing, and I found the topic of female historians refreshing. Most of all, the character βYi Rimβ made my heart flutter. I would like to portray the growth of Yi Rim who was born to have a lonely destiny and is clumsy at everything he does.β
He concluded, βI will try my best to show improvement. I ask for your continued interest [in the drama].β
βRookie Historian Goo Hae Ryungβ is scheduled to premiere sometime in July 2019.
I just watched the first episode and as much as I adore Eunwoo, I feel like his expressions are overly exaggerated and awkward. I read a bunch of knetz comments saying how some idols are not meant for acting, no matter how attractive they are, while others say his face makes up for his lack of acting ability. I definitely think he can get better with more experience, but he should take on more side roles instead of getting a lead role when heβs not ready. To anyone whoβs currently watching the drama, what are your thoughts?
Edit: I agree his acting was decent in Gangnam Beauty, mainly because his character was supposed to be awkward and stiff and it suited him well π

The synopsis is promising. I think that we'll be seeing girl power instead of the usual damsel-in-distress characters.
On Cha Eun Woo's acting, I've seen how he acted in The Best Hit, Sweet Revenge, and some parts of Gangnam Beauty (didn't really watch it 'cause I've read the manhwa and I kind of did not like it), anyway... his acting in the dramas mentioned above are so-so, so... I did not really expect enough however~ I did not expect it to be bad (dear fans please don't kill me) He doesn't seem like a person from the past.
How dare me right? I mean I've seen tons of period dramas in the past 12 years of watching Asian dramas, and I swear, you'll notice that "modern people" do not speak the same way as those from Georyo, Silla, or Joseon. You'll also notice the difference of how royals, slaves, and other members of the society speak.
On Shin Se Kyung's acting, I mean...she's got a lot of experience already and I am expecting a lot from her. (I didn't like her acting on her recent dramas though (Bride of Habaek and Black Knight), and I still am looking for the chemistry between her and Cha Eun Woo, maybe in the next episodes since they didn't have enough scenes together yet.
Also... will we be seeing a love square between the crown prince Yi Jin, historian Woo Won, Prince Yi Rim, and Hae Ryung?
What are your thoughts on this drama? Let me know :)
Hi guys! Today I'm sharing the review of one of my favourite dramas of 2019. Take a look: http://d-meal.com/k-drama-review-rookie-historian-goo-hae-ryung/
I just finished watching Rookie Historian and loved it! I watched it with my preteen girl and we both loved the strong, independent, stubborn female lead. What other dramas would you recommend?
