A list of puns related to "My Fair Lady (2016 TV series)"
Hi,
This is my first TOMT post so I'll try to be as descriptive as possible. I'm not sure if this TV series was from early or late 2000s, but it must've been recent due to the high quality image and special effects.
So this series starts with this woman - main character for the sake of simplicity - who wants to travel abroad and needs her passport to do so, but her single mother tries to stall her and keeps making up excuses as to why she doesn't have a passport. Supernatural things happen and entities kill the single mother in a suspicious home accident. Now that the mother is out of the way, main character was free to search her birth records in an attempt to apply for a passport, and in her mother's things she finds a box with newspaper clippings and her fake birth certificate, and she finds out that the single mother wasn't her mother and that she might be a child that went missing in a small town (perhaps named Caro?).
Main character goes to this small town from the newspaper clippings to try and find out what happened to that missing child and if it is in fact herself. In this town she founds out that the missing child was kidnapped while playing at a park with two friends - two siblings - and those friends' mother. But while the siblings' mother was making a phone call in a phone booth the kids got distracted and the kidnaper got the chance to snatch one of them. This child was taken to a mansion where they made her sing a creepy cult song and placed her in a tunnel with a black mirror to summon entities. These entities are successfully summoned. During her stay at the mansion she was also staying in a bedroom with paper wall with yellow flowers pattern.
In the midst of all this there was a woman police officer who was trying to find the missing child and she successfully found her. The people behind the kidnapping were local powerful and rich people and she new that they'd get away with it all, and that her own safety and career was at risk. But when she was about to approach the child's mother she found the mother having a suspicious secret encounter with the husband of the woman who made the phone call in the phone booth. The police officer assumed that the mother was behind the kidnapping as well, and so she fled the city with the child and spend the rest of her life raising the child as her own and lied to her about her life's origin. Even going as far to tell her that her father was a soldier who died at war. And thus is revealed that t

A few series I've watched the past few years are:
Not sure if all of that is needed, but basically I'm just looking for recommendations for anything that's addicting. I wanna fall into a showhole before I go back to work :)

Hi everyone!
Since we spend quite a few minutes watching her glorious moves how about present her in the Real Housewifes TV series?
I think she could win the fame that she always wanted and we could see her interact with other rich ladies.
We could make a campaign for her.
Me, someone who read the books in elementary school. I got all the way to The Path of Daggers and then kinda forgot about it since there were no more books out at the time.
Some of the terms are a bit of a mess in my head because it's been over two decades and because I read it in three different languages since I didn't know English as a child in the dark ages, known as the 90s. I started with my native tongue, moved on to my home tongue since I was slightly more used to it and once I learned English I started reading it in the native tongue, bada bing bada boom, a solid mess of names and terms in my noggin.
All that said, I was quite excited when I heard about the TV series. Managed to get my wife, who has never read the books, intrigued about it.
A few things: When I saw the first episode I, like many here, was slightly taken aback by the speed they were running through everything, and some of the changes. The girls (who don't even get a name?) for Mat, the wife (had a name but I already forgot it) for Perrin, a bunch of the colourful townsfolk who were axed (no, not like that Perrin) from the show among other things.
But once I watched the second and third episode I started to see more and more glimpses of the story I was enthralled by when I was but a wee lad, imagining himself having a Grey Heron sword and a warders cloak but you know, they were actually a green towel and a wooden sword me and my dad made. But I did draw a (shitty) Grey Heron on it!
And now I'm on board and looking forward to the next episodes.
READ HERE IF YOU WANT TO READ JUST ABOUT THE SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE SHOW
But!
Here's my suggestion on how I would've wanted to change the first few episodes.
The biggest issue of the beginning is that we have very, very little time to get to know any of the characters. Each of them gets essentially one scene which shows what kind of people they are and that's it. And then Moraine shows up, Aes Sedai's shit up, zaba zii zaba zuu, oh dear, we've got Trollocs attacking!
EPISODE I:
How about the first episode would be just about the town, about Egwene, Rand, Mat, Perrin and the townsfolk. Give us personalities and people and drama, give us something to grab onto! Show us what kind of people our four main Two Riverians are. Maybe let Perrin do some blacksmithing? Let Rand, uh, herd sheep and imagine the flame real hard. Let Egwene help run the inn. Let Mat try escape real work.
Just show us the calm (but boring for
With the recent release of yet ANOTHER exorcism movie that flopped, It's kind of got me thinking about Demonic Possession/exorcism as a horror subgenre.
To me, I think the major thing that The Exorcist, The Exorcist III Legion, and The Exorcist 2016 did that made those three things superior to any other demonic possession/exorcism movie was that it made the demon into a character as opposed to just some scary spooky monster that makes people act crazy.
An example would be how in The Exorcist 2016, how Pazuzu manifested himself to Casey as someone she could trust and someone who promised that he would take care of her and protect her, only to worm his way in and start taking total control of her. Pazuzu presented himself to Casey in a similar way as her mother from the 1973 film. A missing father figure. Regan's father was physically absent from her life due to a divorce while Casey's father had suffered brain damage due to a concussion and was mentally absent from her life.
Also, I think that the lines that the demon said in The Exorcist 2016 were bone chillingly brilliant. "Hell? Do you know what hell even is, Regan? It's where your daughter is right now...In a room with no windows, nailed to the floor, alone forever knowing it was her mother who put her there.....but don't worry, there's room for two...." Also in that same episode, I also thought it was really brilliant for the demon to reveal one of Angela/Regan's deepest secrets to a whole bunch of priests and nuns, that before Kat and Casey were born, Regan got pregnant and had an abortion (big no no in the catholic church) due to fear of what could happen to her children.
However, one of the things that I've noticed about modern exorcism movies is that they try WAY too hard to be spoopy and scary that it almost comes off as comical. It's pretty much this formula, have a posessed girl in a nightgown be tied up or chained down in some dark, dank dungeon or abandoned building, or spooky gothic church, have a priest shouting prayers and splashing holy water while the girl simply screams, convulses, and acts more like a mental patient than a possessed person. Then something goes wrong and everyone dies, the end. And that is literally every possession movie that tries to brand itself as "Scarier than The Exorcist".
Exorcist: The Beginning from 2004 almost suffers from the same problem, and that's technically considered the canon prequel to The Exorcist, Exorcist III and Exorcist 2016. (Dominion w

Hello r/appleswap!
I have a few devices that are no longer getting used that I hope to be able to find some new homes for. All prices are negotiable and more pictures can be provided upon request. Please comment before PMing and thanks for looking!
** Apple TV 4 (32GB) - $70 + shipping ** SOLD!!!
In excellent condition and there are no issues to speak of. No original box but I do have the power cable and remote.
** Apple TV 4K (32GB) - $115 + shipping ->! ** SOLD!!!
The unit itself works perfectly but as you can see, the original remote was slightly damaged. It actually still works perfectly fine and Iβm including it since it looks like you need to use the original remote when setting the device up from scratch. The newer, undamaged remote is included in the price and it will all come in itβs original packaging.
** Apple Watch Series 4 (LTE) Silver - $350 + shipping ** Timestamp
The watch is in great condition and was used pretty much daily for the last several months. There are zero issues with itβs operation but there is a discoloration on the original band. I belive something like a Magic Eraser can clean that up but I did not have one on hand when taking the pictures. Apple Care is on it until November 2020 and this was connected to Verizon when I had the cellular enabled. There is currently a Zagg film installed and I will include the box for that so you can use the lifetime warranty if needed. The original box and all accessories are incluced.
** Early 2016 MacBook (Space Gray) - $450 + shipping ** SOLD!!!
Retina display, 1.2GHz Core m5/8GB RAM/512GB/112 cycles; itβs in excellent condition with no cosmetic damages that I can find. The screen is fully fuctional with no issues and has never had to be replaced. It will also come with the original box and charger.
Just came across this series but not sure if it's worth watching? Synopsis was pretty meh.
I usually enjoy hard sci-fi stuff... love reading Asimov, Clarke, etc. Loving Westworld too. Does it sound like I would enjoy it?
I'm half way through the first part of the book, and now I'm kind of interested in the show. How did everyone like it?
The reason I'm asking is because Teddy Sears (who plays Jay Garrick on The Flash) will be at a Comic Con I'm going to in May, and I was hoping the Zoom Pop would be out by then so I could get him to sign it! I know there's no specific release date for Pops, but I wasn't sure if there was a general idea of when this would be released.
TL;DR
Current decent TVs that are available here:
OLED:
LG C1 55 inch β priced at $1250 (1 year warranty, might not cover burn ins)
Sony A80J 55 inch β priced at $1550 (1 year warranty, might not cover burn ins)
LED:
Sony X90J 55 inch β priced at $1166 (X95J seems unavailable here and seems to start at $2000 which is too much)
TCL C825 2021 version mini LED 55 inch β priced at $990

Main usage:
=
Average spent time daily on TV = anything from 6 hours to 12 hours tops
= Sitting distance:
When using as monitor = ~70cm which is around ~2.2ft
When using as TV (For anything ranging from gaming to sports, TV, shows etc) = 2 meters to 3 meters which is 6.5ft to 9.8ft respectively
=
Room status:
My roomβs brightness is fairly under control and, I can make it as dark as possible or as bright as possible with ease.
=
Shorter version of the story:
Iβd choose OLED in a heartbeat if it wasnβt for my PC usage which is apparently risker and the fact that the warranties here only last for 1 year and probably doesnβt cover burn-in. Whatβs holding me back from going LED is the fact that OLED not only has the best PQ but itβs also closely priced or better priced in comparison to the LEDs we have here and the fact that a decent amount of people have told me that OLED burn-ins have become uncommon nowadays with newer TVs and technology and some told me that using one as PC monitor is doable if you take some precautionary step by hiding specific static elements.
=
Also I wouldnβt know whether to choose between the A80J or the C1 if I go OLED. The C1 is cheaper and is better for gaming however people say the A80J has better PQ and upscaling due to its superior processor but lacks certain gaming features. I wouldnβt be able to take advantage of any HDMI 2.1 features or C1 gaming features due to the fact that my PC has GTX 1080 and none of my system devices have HDMI 2.1. The A90J is out of my budget and not even available here yet.
=
As for LED, Iβd go for the X95J if it was available here and fairly priced but itβs not and is very expensive (more so than OLED TVs here as pointed out above) and the X90J seems like a mid-range TV at the end of the day and I donβt know whether I should trust TCL and their products although i
