A list of puns related to "Minor Ailment Scheme"
Tried to get a routine consultation with my local GP, which was an exercise in futility. On hold in the queue system only for the call to get lost a couple of times after 45 minutes on hold each time. Eventually get through only to be told no more appointments today, no you can't book one for tomorrow, try again tomorrow morning. Absolute BS!
I then sit on hold for 111, 2 hours later, I gave up. The ailment can't be treated by the Pharmacist...etc. I will not gum up A&E either..
I found an online private doctor. Paid my Β£45. Got a professional consultation over the phone, off to get my meds on a private prescription.
Absolute joke. If you have a minor ailment and the pharmacy can't sort it, I think you are a bit screwed at the moment unless you shell out to go private. I simply cannot understand why you can't book an appointment for tomorrow if the doctors are too busy today...?
So, for context, I was creating a dwarf PC for a campaing betwen friends and came up with an ailment based on the famous Dwarf Fortress game. I do accept opinions and suggestions to make the idea better.
Here's the idea:
Surface Sickness
(Trait - Dwarven)
Dwarves are used to the darkness of their mines and underground cities. Usually they pass little to no time on the surface and every time a deepdweller comes to surface they might feel nauseous and disoriented for a few hours.
Dwarven characters that stays for long periods undergroud and without sunlight (5 days or more in game time) must do a constitution saving throw (DC 12). If the caracter fails they get incapacitated for 1d12 hours and have to do constitution saving throws (DC 15) to not throw up everything they eat.
They can realize a constituition check (DC 15 with disadvantage) hourly to get rid of the situation.
Any checks that requires rolls must be realized with disadvantage and the creature movement must be halved until the end of the sickness.
I know, I know βdonβt seek medical advice on the internetβ. But hopefully my topic is relevant to this sub.
I am a healthy person in my 30βs and have an HDHP. I go for my annual free physical (most of the time) and have never had any problems, Iβm also fairly active and have never had any major injuries. But as I get older Iβm noticing some minor ailments lingering like my jammed finger from playing football last summer still kinda hurts sometimes, or I have minor soreness in my heel sometimes, etc. all of these things that I chalked up to getting older and just taking longer to heal. Ive jokingly said, βI wish I had a free one-time full body X-ray/scan to check all my minor lingering sports injuriesβ.
But Iβm starting to think maybe I should get them checked out. Problem is that my HDHP is brutal and I donβt want to pay tons of money when I know theres a 95% chance the doctor will say βah itβs fine just rest itβ or βyouβre just getting oldβ.
But I know itβs better safe than sorry and I donβt want to be that statistic that proves HDHPβs prevent people from seeking medical help so I figured Iβd wait till the new calendar year so that I donβt use 2021 deductible just for it to reset. Now thatβs itβs 2022, whatβs the best way to maximize use of my health plan? Whatβs the best way to get everything checked out? What type of doctor does joint/sports injuries?
I am only 25 but with my joints and sciatica issues alongside ibs I feel ancient. When one thing starts itβs like a domino affect and before I know it I have sciatica pain alongside ibs pain and then Iβll also pick up a cold or tonsillitis etc.
Today I took naproxen for bad sciatica pain. I had a bad reaction and it set off my ibs, also made me so dizzy and I felt so unwell. My anxiety then kicked in as I hate feeling sick, so I ended up in tears in the staff room trying not to have a panic attack. To make my day worse the day before I cut myself twice with a broken mug (handle snapped off as I was washing it) once right under my nail and itβs so sore. I split the cut open again in my dazed state. And finally I have started another chesty cough/sore throat and think my chest infection is back.
So right now I feel like a bag of crap :(
I feel like I canβt catch a break at the moment
I started HRT patches a few weeks ago and so far, so goodβ¦except Iβm covered in dirty sticky residue from old patches. I scrub and scrub in the shower every day but it takes a few days to come off completely and Iβm scrubbing so hard that Iβm then left with irritated and dry skin. Anyone got an tips on how to remove it without me having to claw at my skin every day?
Been so convinced from having cervicogenic headaches from my stiff neck and convincing myself I have a brain tumor or something of the like, that I actually missed having a sinus infection for a couple of weeks until my anxiety starting wearing off a bit. Went to my GP (bless her for dealing with me lol) yesterday and she found fluid in my right ear (had lots of fullness and been sorta sensitive to loud music) and throat red from post-nasal drip and sinus pressure in brow/forehead off and on. I was like βohhhhhh, well now all that sh&t from the last couple weeks makes a bit more senseβ haha. In short, donβt listen to your HA or consult Dr. Googleβs Evil Book of Mortal Illnesses You Donβt Actually Have. Go to your actual doctorπ€
The new one just feels & looks unfamiliar to me, and I donβt enjoy using it nearly as much as the old one; if i find it on the map I usually just leave it. IMO they kinda took away another iconic aspect of the game, albeit small.
The answer to the latter turned out to be "no".
The hairstyle ornaments are currently either black or take on a dark hue of the hair itself.
It's fine, but I think mapping the minor color scheme onto these parts would add that extra bit of personality and customization, and would probably make people use these styles more.
I used to do hairstyle modding in another game, so it's something that I immediately checked. It's a small change that I think could have a (relatively) big impact.
Alternatively, a variety of "neutral" colors and textures for these ornaments could look great too regardless of what color schemes the player picks (gold or silver for ear-rings/nose-rings, brown leather for straps, light-colored wood for hairpins).
Great job with the new hairstyles; cheers.
