Someone might help better with German here, but while initially put on the hold, the purchase price ended up being too high for Andretti and the talks are off now. On top of that purchase price, the team owner of Sauber also wanted an additional bank guarantee price of around 250 million (as a 5 year commitment) per the paddock sources. They want for the team to live on in a good condition, and avoid a situation where they get bought and then fall apart quickly (he mentions the budget cap gap problems that could happen with it).

I have a question for you guys. Was Michael Andretti's 1992 CART season the most frustrating in American Champ Car History? I mean, he had five wins in 16 races but it could've been so much better.
- Surfer's Paradise - Michael led all of the first 40 of 65 laps. His engine is done in by a broken header. I don't know what that means, but he finished 17th of 23 cars
- Long Beach - Michael led all of the first 44 of 105 laps. Presumably, he missed a shift and broke his car because he only finished 16th of 23 cars
- Indianapolis - This one is obvious. He curb-stomped the field for 188 of 200 laps in the Indianapolis 500 and looked to be on his way to an easy victory. With about 11 laps to go though, his fuel pump failed and he finished 13th of 33 cars.
- Michigan - It's hard to know how well Michael would have done since his ignition failed less than one-fifth of the way through the race. However, he did lead the first 48 of 250 laps and ended up finishing 18th of 24 cars.
- Mid-Ohio - After leading the first 50 of 89 laps, Michael runs into engine problems and finishes 21st out of 25 cars
All five of these mechanical failures meant that Bobby Rahal beat him that year for the championship by only four points. Had Michael done well in even one of these five races, he probably would've gotten back to back championships. Is there anyone else in IndyCar history who had plenty of wins in a season but couldn't get a championship because of repeated mechanical failures?
