A list of puns related to "Manker"
Picked this up because I was missing a right angle + headlamp. Here are some first impressions:
Versatility - Better than a non angled light. Can be clipped on a shirt/jacket pocket, angled for a ceiling bounce, placed on a table to shine in front of you, placed on magnetic surfaces, and obviously be used as a headlamp.
Clip - Fantastic. Can be positioned in two separate directions, one being deep carry. The clip also presses down with decent friction against my pants pocket. As a bonus, my other EDC, the Skilhunt M150 clip fits if you want it to be dual directional but it pops out a touch more easily than the stock clip. Con: Clip spins around the body of the light easily.
Size - About the same as my M150 but shorter. Not quite as comfortable to hold as a non angled light.
UI - Intuitive. No complaints here.
Diffusers - Fits much more firmly than I expected but probably still at risk of popping off if you threw this light in a loose bag. Personally I don't see myself using these. Nice to have the option though.
Headstrap - I found it comfortable with the short time I used it. The light can be a little jiggly without the third top strap but I don't need it for casual use. Light slides in very securely (with clip flipped to non deep carry). If your clip is deep carry you technically can mount it with just the tail cap. Honestly it feels secure enough to me. A snap in headstrap that's more compatible with the clip would've been ideal.
Batteries - Absolutely love that's its 14500/alkaline/nimh compatible. I think this will be my travel light so I'd like to be able to swap in an emergency. I ordered this with a 14500 that charges with a USB-C port for compatibility.
Low Level - This should have a 1 lumen or sub lumen level with a 14500 but it's not a deal breaker. At 5 lumens, it's fine in a dark room.
Things I miss from the M150 - The battery indicator was excellent. Can pop it on a charger without waiting for LVP to kick in. The non seizure inducing strobe was actually usable.
I couldn't find any runtime graphs for this so if anyone has one please share. I'm curious how it steps down on high and turbo.
For context, the Manker E05Ti is a really good looking 14500 Ti host that comes with an osram cslnm1, smooth reflector, deep carry pocket clip, all for only $50. This is ruined by having strobe in the main freaking UI rotation! I seriously think if it was just a normal L-M-H, it would have sold like crazy.
I brushed mine to bare Ti because i don't like the huge logo. It gives it a nice look, I think. Pictured with my other Manker.

I had ordered a MTN15 driver with bistro on it (got it with the spring the first time, whoops). When i tried installing it, it worked for just a couple seconds then stopped. I thought for sure i fried it, but couldn't really figure out how that might have happened. Oh well. I ran it with the default UI for a week or so, and kind of got used to double-half-pressing to skip strobe. still caught me often enough that it was annoying, though. I also put a 219b sw45k in it.
I ordered 2 more mtn15 drivers because i was afraid i'd ruin another one, since i wasn't sure what happened.
This time i got it without the spring, soldered it together, and it worked! but high was causing the 219b to go purple, so i took that out and put an sst20 4000k in. Put it back together and... nothing. Tried a new battery, res-oldered my connections, tested the LED, and everything looked fine. Since i didn't have the spring this time, i could just push the pill onto the battery and tube, and realized it was because my negative on the driver wasn't always hitting the tube!
Took a look at the original driver, and realized the little wings on it are for making connection, and not just for holding it in the pill.

So i put some solder blobs on the MTN15 by the wings, and now it makes stable, consistent connection every time!

Here's a beamshot of the SST20 with TIR. It's pretty throwy, and has some artifacts on one side because the opening looks to be for a 5050, but it's still pretty good.

All in all, an embarrassingly frustrat
... keep reading on reddit β‘I would like to mod an MC13 with sft40 without buying the copper version. I do not have the light yet and would like to know the MCPCB size and if anyone has modded it to use an SFT-40 led instead of Osram. Which PCB did you use? Thanks
Let's take a moment and let us fully appreciate that the Manker e02v2 was the best AA/10440 in 2020, and 2021 brought nothing better.
This light is great. The UI is good. It has great low modes. It has a good clip. It has a nice fade in - fade out between mid modes. It can do turbo. It is 4000k hi CRI. It can take 10440 and give you 300 lumen flood light.
Most important.. the clip can fit through any of my zipper pulls in all my jackets.
So even without the headband I have hands free light. Awesome.
So. This light is great.
But as always.. It has flaws.. Lets collect ideas and try to make this gem even better. Then let's forward this to Manker.
Is either u/manker or u/mankerlight or u/mankerlights here and listening?
E02V1 was good. V2 is better. V3 might be the best.
My suggestions..
Any more ideas?
As the title says, I run the E02 with AAA or Eneloop. Is the rev. ll a improvement or is it only worth it, when using unprotected 10440?
Any other AAA flashlights in this style and size?
I've just picked up a Keeppower 1100mAh 14500 cell to 'upgrade' my Manker E03H, and it doesn't power it no matter what I try. Which is so far:
My suspicion is that the cell is ~3mm longer than an AA, so the rear contact didn't quite reach. The last test seems to rule that out. So now I'm wondering if the button is too wide, and somehow not contacting the positive terminal either.
Any ideas what I could be missing?
I ordered U22 III SFT40 flashlight and I cant find a battery for it any where even in there stores. Where can i find this battery?
