A list of puns related to "Mandamento (Sicilian Mafia)"
The KOTS should have a function with the mafia specifically Sicily I think a reasonable addition could work like this
The player has two options for a event every 3 months support the mafia or move against it.
If you support it three times in a row you get +20 to factory output to factoryβs and dockyards in Sicily as well as more building slots.
If you move against it you get +20 stability and if you do it three times in a row the mafia revolts with 5 militia divisions into a syndicatalits rebellion if you fail to defeat it within two months the mafia gains independence in the βrepublicβ of Sicily however if you beat them you get a constant +30 stability and +2 building slots in Sicily
What are the differences if any?
I know this sort of organized was nearly stamped out during Mussolini's regime so I figured the mafia wouldn't have been too thrilled with neo-fascist activity. But they probably also disliked far left politics as well, so I'm curious if they took a stance.
I've played about 4 lives in Italy, both with and without crime as a special talent. But I keep getting other Italian Mafia gangs. Don't know if my game is just glitch or if the chances are low. Need it for the final crime achievement.
Just a question when it came to the Golden Age of The Mob (70s-80s). Was there any interaction between the Italian American Mafia in the States, and the Sicilian Mafia of ye old country of Sicily?
Also, did they ever worked together? I heard that John Gotti once sent an assassin to Siciliy to help out Salvatore Riina kill Atty. Falcone during the Second Mafia War. Any truth to this?
I was reading up on some of the different criminal organizations and of course their relation to each other in The Sopranos.
The Sopranos almost exclusively deals with the Italian American Mafia with some interactions or mentions of the Russians, Albanians, Cubans, etc.
Of course when Tony and co. go to Italy they aren't visiting the Sicilian Mafia but rather a Camorra clan in Naples. Tony takes Furio back and Furio has sort of an interesting position within the Soprano/DiMeo family.
But my main question, and its both regarding the Sopranos Universe and real life knowledge of it all, is how does membership translate from one criminal organization to the other?
From my understanding the Camorra and 'Ndrangheta do not have "Made Men" in the sense that the American and Sicilian Mafia do. They of course have membership and IIRC the 'Ndrangheta has very strict membership based on actual family as in there is major overlap between blood relation and membership.
Furio is treated as if he is made and referred to as being made by the other characters in the show. He is also present during Christopher and Eugene's membership ceremony.
Anyone got any Sopranos examples or real life examples of this sort of "translation" of membership?
Surely the don/mafia-heads would have been the feudal lords who oversaw the works of the peasant farmers on their lands
