I've been on vacation and away from my PC for a while, but from what I've gathered people are annoyed at tripod mounted MG spam on every front. I wanted to share something I brought up a while ago regarding the ammunition they use, 12.7mm, and its incredibly low cost, as well as a potential solution.
12.7mm costs 100 Bmats/crate and each crate contains 20 magazines. Therefore, one 12.7mm reload costs 5 Bmats, and can contain anywhere from 25 rounds (Catara) to 250 (Lamentum). That means each 12.7mm bullet can cost as little as 0.02 Bmats, 4 times less expensive than the next cheapest ammunition type (9mm at 0.08 Bmats/bullet).
Other types of infantry support ammunition need to be conserved because they are expensive, only a handful come per crate, they are used up quickly, or any combination of these. 12.7mm, however, is not expensive, comes in large quantities in crates, and contains multiple times more ammunition than any other weapon systems in game.
My recommendations: either
- Increase production cost to 200 Bmats/crate and reduce quantity per crate to 10, or
- Reduce quantity per crate to 5, or
- Require explosive materials to produce to account for the fact it counts as heavy kinetic
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Briefing
Situation
Russian forces, mostly the VDV, have invaded Norway and are trying to move west and south through the county of Vidda. Our job is to hold Outpost Vlake, and stop the enemy from falling into the rear of Task Force Pokka.
While we do have Leopard 2 to support us, its engine is inoperable and it has no fuel. We have some vehicles in various states of repair and fuel, but no other support.
Enemy Forces

- Everything they have to offer: MBTs, BMPs, BTRs, and a ton of infantry
- Little air support, likely only rotary, but Su-25 not out of the question
Enemy's Capabilities & Limitations
The enemy is stretched out, and as such will likely not use massed attacks, but rather attrition tactics. Since we're mostly dealing with the VDV, expect them to use speed and maneuvering to get an advantage. The friendly forces in the ESE (TF Pokka) will try and bind the Russian heavy forces, but there will likely be attempts to flank via the road past OP Vlake.

As if on cue, Lytha sat down next to Melissa and set four mugs of ale on the table. “Owner said this is the busiest night she’s had in weeks. Our drinks are on the house for the rest of the night,” she said excitedly.
“How could you do this?” I asked her.
She took a sip from her fourth or fifth ale, I was sure, and raised an eyebrow at me. “Do what?”
“You know exactly what. I hate attention like this.”
“Seemed like the best way to get the town riled up. The esteemed Ikon Weaver, visiting a local tavern! Who wouldn’t want to join for that? Especially once I met that bard and he told me about his song.”
“You knew that was going to happen? That was the worst part! After this, I’m chucking Barn and you into a river,” I threatened, even as I grabbed for one of the ales and began drinking.
“Don’t take it out on Barn. He actually didn’t want to go this route… insisted he could get the place riled up without riding your coattails, but I didn’t feel like waiting around for him to come up with a scheme.”

... keep reading on reddit ➡Recently upgraded my power amp to a March Audio P502, a Class D amp utilizing the Hypex Ncore NC502MP module. My impressions are that it's fantastic, with outstanding clarity and detail. Tremendous power reserves for both my speakers, Vandersteen 2ce Sigs, and Magnepan MMG's. But sadly with the increased resolution, I'm finding my analogue rig to be lacking in fidelity. I'm a vinyl lover, with records overflowing my house, and have been collecting for over 20 years. This upgrade has a been a total shock to the system, one I didn't see coming. I have two decent turntables, a Rega P3 and a Michell Gyro SE, no slouches (and quite the investment for me). But now they're easily bested by my lowly DAP, a Surfans F20. I get even more detail out of my DAC, a cheap SMSL Sanskrit 10th mkII. I haven't been spending much on digital, but that will change.
Getting so much more detail from my system now, old vinyl technology just can't keep up. Never thought this would happen to me, now I'm questioning reality. I'm having an existential analogue crisis. I'm becoming more objective, trying to understand all those graphs better. Digitally, I prefer DSD, but redbook FLAC is sounding fantastic as well, along with hi-res PCM. I have 4 stereo systems in my house, and 3 of them are not resolving enough to do away with vinyl altogether. But my main system is going digital, and that's a shocker.
So now I'm going to shell out for a balanced DAC/pre, probably a Topping D30 Pro, to bypass my tube preamp which the dudes over at ASR have said is another limiting factor. I've been married to that preamp for a while, a Rogue Metis, always thinking it was fast and clean with outstanding soundstage and bass response. Never thought I'd ever put it on the backburner, but here we are. We shall see, though I will take my time since I just got the amp. Upgrading DACs should be less of a step up, seeing as the SMSL measures quite well, but it should be noticeable nonetheless. I've turned a page here, for better or worse. Wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences.
But let me give it a shot.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

Please be respectful of those who have passed on. This piece is being written to both understand & memorialize those lost. Something has to stop. Seriously. With Young Dolph having been killed last week, it almost seems as if these news reports are eerily normal now. I want to step back & say that this is a man who made it out & still gave to his old neighborhood, was much loved. He was a father first. We lost someone's father, son, grandson, dear friend, family member. All of the success, accomplishments, money, he is not here anymore. What now? How will these communities move forward? How does his family heal from such a heart wrenching event? I'm not sure about ya'll, but I'm tired. I'm tired of seeing innocent kids carry years’ worth of trauma on their shoulders, growing up only to continue that cycle, I'm tired of these young black men losing their lives over nonsense leaving their young kids without a father. I'm tired of seeing mentally ill drug addicted families not instill good values into their children's lives so they can break that generational curse. I am tired of these young men and women who feel like gang affiliation is the only form of family love they have, I am tired of seeing these rappers be so content in knowing they may die anytime they walk out of their house. That fear, that anxiety, that split second before everything they endured is gone.
From the outside looking in, it's difficult to understand why these people engage in such dangerous activity. I don't mean to be cliché but when you know better, you do better. There is nothing better in the hood. Take it from someone who grew up in it. Every state is different but the environments are normally similar. Imagine waking up in a cramped apartment, filled with roaches, getting up for breakfast, moms isn't there, she's working two jobs to keep a roof over y'all head. You get dressed, walk into the hallway, get into a pissy elevator, go to school, can't buy snacks after, you're broke and your mom doesn't have it. You get Outta School, you're walking home, you don't see much outside. Mostly bodegas, Chinese restaurants & liquor stores. You need money, the little bit you get you help out your mom. You need more though.
