My landlord co-owned the building with Reddy according to Berkeley property records (we rent from Domingo properties). Last week, she was crying and there was an ambulance outside our apartment building with a stretcher and her family outside said someone had passed away.
My roommates went downstairs for the memorial service today which she invited us to (we didn't know who it was for exactly, but we knew Reddy was a possibility due to the deaths being on the same day as him). But once they saw the picture of him there, they confirmed it was Reddy.
There are dozens of people gathered in my building to celebrate the life of a convicted rapist and international sex trafficker. This is just so sad and depressing. What's even crazier is that he was almost certainly living in our building since the ambulance was at our place the day he died.
I'm enjoying the poetry book Where Do You Go Alone by Pavana Reddy, and I wanted excerpts to be my first post here. This subreddit is amazing.

Abstract
While there is an abundance of popular writing targeted to podcast creators on how to speak in ways that engage their listeners, there has been little data-driven analysis of pod- casts that relates linguistic style with listener engagement. In this paper, we investigate how various factors β vocabulary diversity, distinctiveness, emotion, and syntax, among others β correlate with engagement, based on analysis of the creatorsβ written descriptions and transcripts of the audio. We build models with different textual representations, and show that the identified features are highly predictive of engagement. Our analysis tests popular wisdom about stylistic elements in high- engagement podcasts, corroborating some aspects, and adding new perspectives on others.
