A list of puns related to "Love potion"
So they confront the Weasleys, Hermoine and McGonagall are also there....and it turns out Harry did just legit have a very strong crush but his childhood meant he struggles with healthy emotions relating to intimacy and love. Daphne has similar issues, her parents weren't abusive intentially but in the pursuit of being neutral and gray, her whole family does too much occumency, so as a result she herself acually doesn't super know how feelings work.
Molly gets floo-called in to give them both hugs, McGonagall is somewhere between sad for Harry/murderous for the Dursleys and Poppy is currently trying to figure out a potion regime for Daphne to fix the damage of emotion suppression at a young age. Ginny is shockingly kind to Daphne about it, trying real hard not to gloat that a crush on her feels like a love potion.
When Harry asks Molly about how she used to brew love potions, she explains that he was thinking of the most powerful compulsion one. Most love potions are essentially recreational drugs that she experimented with, alongside Arthur. It was the 60s you see, and.....um yeah anyway, she doesn't even know a recipe for the compulsion form anyway, its highly illegal.
Rune factory 4 / endgame
please let's stop with this ridiculous headcanon, because it was never said anywhere in the series.
I never understood how people believe such dumbass theories, like this isn't even a theory, it's slander. If you don't like there relationship fine, but why you tryna act like ginny raped harry? When there's no evidence at all to prove that. Its honestly so dumb.
An actual evidence of this theory, is the fact potions are in HBP alot? Like so what? How is that evidence. Yes, gred and forge sell them, but we never see or even hear that she bought it. Also, if she'd given harry it, wouldn't we also see it? The books follow everything harry does, so if like ginny gave him water with love potion, we the audience would know.
Even if this is true, let's analyze. Ron is given a love potion in HBP also, and he does he react? Well, completely insane. But in no way, in this entire book, does harry act like how ron did. It didn't come out of nowhere his feelings with ginny, it was built up from the earlier books, again with ron, he never had any interest in romilda vane, until he had the potion, and its not the same case with harry.
Now the real kicker, that shatters this theory. In DH harry goes on a mission to destroy the horcruxes, good for him i knew he could do it, but guess what, HE'S NOT ANYWHERE NEAR GINNY FOR MONTHS, AND HE STILL HAS FEELINGS FOR HER. How do you explain that huh? Like almost every single theory can be disproven, by ''just read the book''.
Also there's this:
There you go,β said Fred proudly. βBest range of love potions youβll find anywhere.β Ginny raised an eyebrow skeptically. βDo they work?β she asked. βCertainly they work, for up to twenty-four hours at a time depending on the weight of the boy in question ββ ββ and the attractiveness of the girl,β said George, reappearing suddenly at their side. βBut weβre not selling them to our sister,β he added, becoming suddenly stern
So gred and forge wouldn't sell it to their sister, and it only works for twenty four hours, so even she did give him one, she didn't. And i don't think slughorn even teaches the class how to brew love potions, all in all this theory is stupid.
I really just see this as just ginny slander, like it has no hard evidence at all, it's just trying to discredit a relationship that is amazing. This is what pisses me off most about the fandom, when they don't like something, they always take it to the extreme, like ik some of people who want the epilogue removed from the canon, and even this too, like just chill. If you wanna hate something, go ahead, but why try to rem
... keep reading on reddit β‘It would be broken against many fights. It'll still be broken even if it works like Piercing Wail and even as a rare potion. Too good to be a thing but imagine if it was
Because I've wondered what would happen if one was given multiple love potions for different people at the same time.
She still has a son, who she names Tom Gaunt. Tom after the man she loved, Gaunt because she has no idea who his father is. In every other way that matters (still handsome, but not a replica of Tom Sr), the child is identical to Tom Riddle
How do things change?
Like, can you trick Peeves to fall for Filch ?
Here's what we know :
"Love potions were potions which caused the drinker to become infatuated or obsessed with the person who gave it to them." (The Half Blood Prince)
The key here is "with the person who gave it to them". Well what does we mean by 'give' ?
Let's say I want to give a love potion to someone but I can't give it directly. Or I want to do a prank, and make a friend fall for someone else... How do I proceed ?
.
Let's take random characters in a few exemples, in order to make the problem clearer.
We have chocolates spiked with love potion.
Like stated by Car1yBlack, who the intended target originally was is irrelevant (cf the Romilda case)
Here Fred wants to prank Filch by making Peeves infatuated with him (we want Peeves "loves" Filch)
.
1- If Fred spikes the chocolates and gives it to Peeves -> Peeves "loves" Fred.
This one is easy.
.
2- If Fred spikes the chocolate, but gives it to Filch, and Filch gives it to Peeves. Who does Peeves "love" ?
A- Fred, whom the chocolates are from FOR REAL
B- Filch, who PHYSICALLY gave him the spiked chocolate
.
3- And now, what about whom Peeves THINKS the chocolates are from ? Does it change something ? What if Peeves knows the spiked chocolate are from Fred ? What if he thinks the spiked chocolate are from Filch ?
.
---------- Spoiler alert (well, trivial ones though)
I think we might have an answer for 3 : When Romilda Vane gave the chocolate tho Harry, and Ron ate them, Ron didn't know whom they were from⦠but still ended up obssessed with Romilda (Half blood prince) So, whom you THINK the chocolates are from shouldn't matter.
We could also make a parallel with some other magical rules, such as the clothes and the house elf. Even though Lucius Malfoy didn't intent to give Dobby the sock, it still freed him. So the intention of the giver might not matter (which mean even if Filch didn't intent to give love potion spiked chocolates, it would still work the same). It doesn't help us for who Peeves loves though.
--------- End of spoiler alert

SO, what do you think ? Please help me, my mind is about to blow up.
I mean it smells like whatever people like best. Even the wearer would benefit.

Pretty much the title molly thinks they look cute together and goes to Fred and George and get an almost love potion slips it to them and they start getting quite busy. Set around year 6 ish I believe. Hermione is the only one who knows they are dating out of the group.
So I'm doing a clan ship build. I'm just under 500sp but lately I've been putting points into love potion and fairy charm. Is that good? I've heard love potion is good for speed. Nobody talks about fairy charm but personally it's been a blessing having so many extra fairies to give me mana and/or activate spells for me. It's a huge help. Just wanted to know what the general thought on these skills are
So what if Eileen fell in love with Tobias and used a love potion. Like with Merope and Tom Sr.
The difference is that when Snape is born, Tobias stays with Eileen on the condition that she won't use her magic or try to control him again. Eileen stays with Tobias despite him lashing out at her as a way of penance. The Prince family disowns her not just for consorting with Muggles but for misusing her power as a witch. Now Eileen has to repress her use of magic to avoid more mistakes and encourages Snape to do the same despite getting beat on.... Hence the control training with Occlumens and background in Dark magic that Eileen very well might have been interested in.
What's your thoughts? Does this dynamic work? It's for my fanfiction.
Standard love potion plot, but when the trio are in the middle of the gringotts heist, the love potion's effects are stripped away by thief's downfall.
