Bio:
EARLY LIFE, 1714 - 1730
The second son born to Titian and Belloza Firavanti. Lodovico began his spectacular life in the master bedroom of the Sunkiss House on the tip of Mount Ending. A hard and arduous birth, his older brother had been much easier and kinder on the hips. When at last the boy was born, Titian Firavanti ordered three nights of music played to honor the safe labor for both child and mother. Belloza Firavanti was not nearly as choked up about the whole thing as her husband. As per Grand House tradition, the babe's birth month was declared August and Civalla ushered in a great procession of parades and festivals to celebrate the noble birth.
Raised on Mount Ending, his youth was spent overseeing hearings in the Palazzi, summering on the Isle of Imoggia, and committing acts of altruism for the poor folk of the Kiss in the name of reputation. His brother Cipriano two years older was trained for the Salvators, while Lodovico was trained for the Palazzi. Lodovico quickly became the favorite of his father, a politician, while Cipriano was adored by his mother, a retired Syntag in the Salvator Air-Force. Each brother envied the other, a trait that lessened as they grew.
Helena Firavanti was born in 1721 AE. At seven years old, Lodovico doted on his baby sister. It was here that his love for women began to flourish. Although he constantly sought the approval of his mother, one that he never received. Belloza Firavanti disapproved of the close relationship Lodovico had with his sister, though for what reason, neither of them knew. While beautiful, Helena was athletic, obsessed with warfare and exploration. Fighting in the Bush Wars had made Belloza cold and she did not want the same life for her child.
As Lodovico grew, he proved to be quite charming and charismatic, and under the tutelage of a father who loved the finer things in life, Lodovico was the shining example of a cultured
... keep reading on reddit β‘I really cannot afford the price tag to be honest but I absolutely require it before I can read this article "Better than Magic: Cornelius Agrippa and Lazzarellian Hermetism" and then read Agrippa's 3 Books within the context I'd like to read them.
I already paid for the article and I'd be willing to trade it for the text if someone would be able to share.
This is my first time using Alexandria and it's a phenomenal resource, just wanted to add that as well :)
When I started reading, I was grateful for having the original edition (not the American one that the film is based on), but when I finished it, I felt that the ending lacks the organic structure of the previous chapters.
It was an amazing book with characters who weigh in on the main character, Alex (not given a surname in the book), and what he wants/wills. One character, I believe his name was the Doctor, told Alex about prison conventions. Wherever he went, Alex had to succumb to other people's expectations. It felt so nice seeing this disgusting rapist being punished, but as his punishment prolonged and became more severe, I felt sympathy for the bastard (Pardon my French). And it never seemed to end, the punishment, I mean.
I have never seen the film, but Bog, the Lodovico's technique was...interesting. It probably itched my deeply ingrained human egoism, making me think that good is desirable even at the cost of all evil. Imagine a world where people have too much freedom, and then imagine a Government coming in with the thing and wiping out all freedom. The Int Inf Minister was a bad guy, that's for sure, but so were most other people in the novel. Dim the dim went from being a brutal teen killing machine to being a brutal non-teen policeman. I almost cried when I read how he punished Alex and left him alone in a village. But the worst characters were definitely the dissidents at the end and the Minister. For a few moments, I was no longer a Liberal or Conservative.
And the final chapter...I think it's only fair if you read the book version with it. After all, Burgess intended it to be a crucial part of the whole story. Nevertheless, I know a couple of examples of people who did not grow up like Alex did, so my final judgement (for now) about the final, 21st chapter, is: It's all a pipe dream, dear Mr Burgess.
Anyhow, great book. 4,5 out of 5:great, innovative story, varied characters, different perspectives, very interesting topics, lack of organic ending. Not to mention that I, a native speaker of a Slavic language, understood nadsat clearly.
And what do you think? Did you like it? :)
EDIT: Changed greatful to grateful. Changed some present tense verbs to past tense forms.

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
