A list of puns related to "List of shipwrecks in the Great Lakes"
Also, score the books on a scale of 6 to 13 but donβt tell me which score belongs to which book. TIA!
Hello! I'm a nonfiction writer working on an essay about shipwreck victims supposedly in "perfect preserved condition" at the bottom of Lake Superior. The theory I've heard is that the water is so cold down there, it inhibits any sort of bacterial growth, leaving the bodies in tact and sunken.
However, I'm having a really hard time a) finding scientific evidence of this, b) historical evidence of this and c) someone who will go on the record about it! I spoke recently with a shipwreck diver living in Sault Ste. Marie who confirmed there are human remains there, but he refused to talk any more about it since it's obviously a sensitive and morbid subject.
Any pointers?
For context: In a difficult and painful decision, I moved away from my home state of Michigan. The idea of a body remaining at the bottom of the Great Lakes (a place that's really important to me!) seems to represent the past selves/memories we abandon when we leave our origins.
If you've read this far, thanks for your time haha
When I was a little kid, (maybe 6 or 7) me and my dad were on a beach on Great Guana Cay in the Bahamas. We were talking about something related to diving, when a man close to where we were standing told us there was a shipwreck just far out in front of the beach. So the next day, we when out to the location on our boat so we could snorkel on it, and we found it. It was mostly just debris, (hull platings, doors etc...). It spanned a pretty large area, so the ship mustβve been big. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. I might go back this summer and try to find it, and get some pics and footage to post here.
