So, are you eating a lot of non-starchy vegetables? Anyone taking Dr. Wahl's recommendation to get up to nine cups?!
I'm only up to three cups right now, but I'm ambitious.

Non-starchy Vegetable Recommendations?
Hey, so I've been a vegetarian basically all my life (since 1995) and recently have had to adjust my eating because of organic feeding issues. (Got IBS + gastroparesis + POTS related food intolerances + autism related food intolerances)
Recently, I have noticed one of my go-to foods, potatoes, has been making me really sick. One of my doctors told me that a lot of vegetarians have GI problems stemming from eating too many starchy vegetables. I can also not eat raw vegetables 90% of the time because my intestines can't handle the fiber. (Gotta be cooked to mush or blended.) Tragically, I am also allergic to mushrooms.
I'm trying to eat more vegetables instead of high carb grains + starches. Some things I already love are tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, zucchini, avocados (in moderation), and black beans.
Any advice or recommendations on getting non-starchy veggies in an easily digestible way would be super appreciated! Especially breakfast foods.

Struggling to find cat food without fish or fish oil, but if also free of grains, starchy vegetables, and questionable fillers - any recommendations?
After some food trials, it appears that my cat has food intolerance to fish. Almost all cat foods contain fish oil, so itβs been hard to find ones without. I did manage to find Tiki Catβs Chicken with Egg ConsommΓ© recipe which seems to be the cleanest and most nutritious of all the options, but 1) Iβd like a backup if they ever change the formulation, 2) I want a dry option to use for her foraging toys because my cat is food obsessed but on a calorie controlled died, and she will eat things around the house if she is hungry, and 3) I honestly hate the smell and mess that results from this particular food. My cat drops the strips of chicken everywhere! I never had an issue of her being a messy eater with any of the other wet foods I gave her.
My cat isnβt fat but the vet wanted her to lose a little weight saying sheβs the most she should be. I had to cut her calories twice because she just wasnβt losing weight because sheβs very lazy and inactive. I have tried ever toy and trick in the book - she just wants to lounge and eat. The problem is that when sheβs hungry (because Iβm not feeding her as much since I need to restrict calories), she will eat things that could be harmful to her. So I am trying to balance this by giving her more food sometimes, so I donβt want foods that could further cause issues with her health. I want to avoid grains and starches since sheβs already so food obsessed and could develop complications later. Lots of the thickening agents also seem controversial - I think Iβm fine with tapioca from what I remember but am trying to avoid the others.
One food option I saw had clay as an ingredient and I donβt understand why clay is in cat food. I know raw is always an option for the wet, but if the tiki cat works for now, Iβd rather stick with that. But I still want a dry supplement
Anyone aware of any options??

TIL starchy root vegetables may have enabled the evolution of the human brain.
More TILs:
-
TIL highly speculative, tentative scientific studies about early human evolution can be accepted as fact when they support my views.
-
TIL naturalistic claims about human diets at some point in evolutionary history can be used to argue for certain modern day diets, if they're the right claims in support of the right modern day diets.

Do you avoid starchy vegetables?
Was doing some research on health benefits and nutrition stuff on different types of vegetables. Normally Iβm not a huge fan of greens but Iβve been trying to add more veggies to my meals.
Some vegetables like carrots , Brussel sprouts, broccoli, onions, avocado has a good amount of carbs which does stack up.
Do you guys normally avoid these or just use other types of vegetables with lower carbs?

Looking for list of non-limited vegetables and fruits
I am just starting the elimination and I've got the Monash app. I would like to have a list of vegetables/fruits/foods that I can eat freely (i.e. no restricted serving sizes). I know I can make one from the app, but I'm hoping there is one out there already so I don't have to spend all that time tediously looking up every food.
Anyone know of one?

Non Starchy Veg
How do I handle adding non starchy veg? I wanted to bulk up a recipe by adding a ton of broccoli, but it almost doubled the carbs per serving. Am I thinking about this in the wrong way? I figured I was doing the right thing by adding more vegetables and fiber. Should I be looking at other veggies for bulking out recipes?
