A list of puns related to "List of films set in the future"
[WP] basically the plot of 2005 The Island, exept for stunt actors.
Name a film set in the future that either hasn't happened or will most likely not happen.
Example: The Fifth Element features flying cars driven by humans. We already have self-driving cars some 240 years before the film's time setting.
Everyone has already had their chance to praise what a masterpiece Logan. I on the other hand would like to put my take as to why the R-Rating did the film so many favors... It came the closest to capturing who Wolverine is as a character in the comics.
By removing the PG-13 handcuffs off of Logan. You get a real sense of how savage, animalistic and dangerous Wolverine really is when pushed to the edge, showcasing all of the bloody carnage on screen that is his doing. It adds a lot of weight to the violence. It makes it easy understand why Logan is so haunted by his trauma and terrified of himself, trying his best to escape from it.
Because for almost his whole life especially in the comics, many had tried to dehumanize him--- strip him of his humanity to make him into their living and breathing weapon devoid of emotion and sometimes its easy to see why they want him as their weapon. And when his savagery and healing factor is combined with his years of highly-sophisticated training in martial arts and military covert ops, it makes Wolverine perhaps one of the most lethal killers in the Marvel Universe, at his best he is Deathstroke, Terminator and Predator combined. Yet this was kind of life he never wants to live, wanting to live an honorable life the best he could makes him so admirable despite living such a tragic, bloody and horrifying life of violence, pain and regret.
In the MCU--- they have tons of creative ways as to how they can make their Wolverine compelling in their own unique way. Considering the character's wealth of amazing source material of comics to draw from. And we have yet to deeply explore the theme of dehumanization and its repercussions it can have on a person in the MCU (I could be wrong though) then we see them trying to rebuild their life in the best way that they can. Wolverine can perfectly fulfill that void of storytelling.
Bob Iger and Kevin Feige have already stated that they are both already open to the idea of making an R-Rated MCU film, its just a matter of giving it to the appropriate character who would benefit from it for the right creative storytelling.
Of course we will never see a Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man movie that is Rated-R... There is absolutely no value in that, but for darker or violent Marvel heroes/anti-heroes
... keep reading on reddit β‘This was referenced in a Reddit post and the discussion was about the aesthetic of the film. Technology was so common, devices weren't new and sleek, rather technology adopted the same aesthetics as non-techy stuff. e.g., a phone that looked like a metal, embossed makeup case or an office that looked similar to something from the 70s. I think the movie had a director renowned for the aesthetics of his films. I think it was a one word title.
I've recently gotten into Eberron, on top of a couple of other things. I've been reading up on the setting, and have been watching a few of the films the Campaign Guide recommends. Along with that, I have a couple of series that I find give me a few ideas for Eberron adventures.
First, I find a good deal of similarities between Eberron and Fullmetal Alchemist. Both have their magic a part of their technology, economy, and military (Dragonmarked Houses, Magewrites, War Magic; State Alchemists, the study of Alchemy), similar technology levels (Trains, Prothstetics; Lightning rails, Automail), the shadow of a devastating war looming over the country (the Last War in Khorvaire; The Ishval Civil War), and a whole lot of intrigue. I think they're a good match.
Second, I also find some similarities, albeit a little less so, in Mike Mignola's Hellboy. I've only recently started reading through the 'mignolaverse', so my knowledge is somewhat limited. Mainly, is see similarities in the fact that there's a lot of ancient evils in tin cans trying to break out (Daelkyr, Lords of Dust, Quori; Demons, Ancient Witches), spooky-cult stuff (Cults of the Dragon Below, Emerald Claw, Followers of the Lord of Blades; Occult Nazi Shennanigans), and the general dark ambiance in those regards. I could see BRPD-esque adventuring organizations in charge of digging out cults and containing ancient evils. The whole thing with the Daughters of Sora Kell gives me ideas of Baba Yaga and the kerfuffle with the witches in England, along with Ogdru Jahad feeling like a perfect example of an abomination from the Age of Demons.
Anything that inspired you guys and your campaigns?
Spider-Man can always count on his amazing friends. But there's been a strong lack of supporting other superhero characters in his recent films, and it's been that way for forever. I mean besides Iron Man and Captain A. You'd think it'd have already happened with Homecoming, but all we saw was Donald Glover cameo as Prowler's civilian alter-ego. :/
I specifically want to see his allies show up in the third MCU film. since it'd be a nice surprise. So here's his allies from the comic books, how they should appear/look in the MCU redesign, and who should play them:
- Razorback (Yes, THAT Razorback)
What Should His Costume Be: Himself as an anthropomorphic wild boar with a dark green tank top and yellow wristbands. In the comics, he's a regular southern trucker dude with a boar head mask...but honestly he'd be way cooler like this. He has static electrical abilities.
Who Should Play Him: Brian Steele. Since he'd be in creature makeup and can't talk, my voice pick for him is Dee Bradley Baker.
- Darkhawk
What Should His Costume Be: More metallic than his comic look, with a purple visor, glowing white chest gem, and black body suit.
Who Should Play Him: Josh Hutcherson. Seriously, I haven't seen him in anything since the Hunger Games. But I could see him as him, dark hair and all.
- Firestar
What Should Her Costume Be: A yellow jacket with red flame schemes, half yellow half crimson boots, and a more curved look to her masque...Actually they should be goggles in the same way.
Who Should Play Her: Britt Robertson. She's starred in the Disney film Tomorrowland and guess who owns Marvel? It could be a good connected way to put her in this role...I originally thought of Chloe-Grace Moretz but she's better off as Hit Girl.
- Iceman
What Should His Costume Be: His skin in ice like in the comics, and with a red t-shirt bearing a grey X. Shouldn't be a problem with Fox being under the MCU/Disney umbrella now.
Who Should Play Him: Dylan O'Brien.
- Rocket Racer
What Should His Costume Be: Dark grey primary armor, red plates, and dark yellow boots. (Yes, I know he was originally a villain).
Who Should Play Him: I honestly don't know. I was gonna say Aubrey Joseph but he plays Cloak from Cloak and Dagger in the canon already.
After seeing Joker get so many awards and recognition, Iβve always wanted that for a MCU movie. Despite Endgame being number 1 in box office, and the movie being the biggest event ever and with everyone talking about it, it still didnβt receive any awards. I hope in the future, we can get an MCU film like Joker, to where this MCU film is soooo good that it gets awards not just for CGI, but for best actor or best film. To be honest, this might be a lot to ask for since MCU films are just for fun and arenβt meant to receive awards like that, but if DC did it then so can Marvel Studios.
Remember when billion-dollar films were rare?

... keep reading on reddit β‘I've seen some reports that say that "Parasite" is the most successful foreign language film of all time in the US, but that seems doubtful to me, so I tried some googling and it turns out I couldn't find a really good list. Wikipedia's article focuses on non-English language film worldwide, which is fine, but I can't find a list for the American/north American box office specifically. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
