Just returned from Brentwood Park and the aforementioned egg drop. This event has been a tradition for my family for several years now. It has been something my kids anticipate yearly. Today was really disappointing. No disrespect to Hope City Church because it was obvious that they tried their best to accommodate a mob. This event is "for the kids".... Yet I saw DOZENS of kids get cut off and stepped over by adults trying to make sure their child has a mountain of plastic eggs and others had ZERO. It was truly dangerous; especially for the really young ones. Mind you... no matter how many eggs you collect, you get the same amount of candy as a parting gift. So these unruly parents and their spawn essentially ruined the experience for many of the children in attendance for no measurable net gain in 'reward'.
TL:DR- Free community events continue to scale poorly to the population of Portland. People are tunnel visioned and rude.
